Dog Friendly Beaches in Port Alberni, BC

Leashed pets are welcome to join you at the pet-friendly Salt Creek Recreation Area in Port Angeles, WA. Enjoy walking along the coast and taking in beautiful views of the water with your pup. You can also enjoy a 5-mile hike on the Striped Peak trail, which begins from the recreation area. Please remember to clean up after your pets.

Officially the beach is on-leash (like all Tofino beaches) but as you will notice most local dogs are friendly and off leash.

Located in Cobble Hill, Cherry Point Nature Park is an ocean waterfront park with stunning views across the channel to Separation Point and Saltspring Island. This beach is teeming with life and offers many nature viewing opportunities. Dogs are welcome.

French Beach Provincial Park on the South Island of Vancouver Island in beautiful Sooke, BC will make doggie dreams come true. This pet-friendly recreation space features hard-packed sand, making it ideal for a top-speed run with a dip or two in the Juan de Fuca Strait. A towering rock formation right on the beach is the perfect place to play hide and seek with a tennis ball. And the abundance of driftwood makes a perfect throw stick easy to find. Even the doggie bags are top-notch, compliments of several nearby restaurants.

This beach has various resorts, cabins, and campsites that back onto it, most of which are dog friendly.

Dogs are not allowed on Tunstall Bay Beach during the months of July and August. During the rest of the year, dogs are allowed on Tunstall Bay Beach as long as they are cleaned up after and on-leash. Tunstall Bay Beach is a west-facing, rocky swimming beach.

Salt Spring Island has fabulous pet friendly beaches to stroll and beach comb. Ocean swimming for dogs and great long beach strips for throwing sticks and running in the sand together.

Botanical Beach is found within Juan de Fuca Provincial Park. This section is a small forest hike to the beach. Dogs welcome on leash. Lots of tide pools but also nice beach area for pups and known to be much more dog friendly than neighbouring Botany Bay.

Salt Spring Beaches provides numerous opportunities for pet-friendly outings with your pup on Salt Spring Island, BC. Leashed dogs are permitted at Zach Beach, Hudson Point Beach, Jack Foster Beach East and certain Ruckle Provincial Park Beaches sections. However, please be aware that dogs are restricted from large areas within Ruckle Provincial Park. During the off-season, your furry friend is allowed off-leash at Hudson Point Beach.

Osborne Bay Regional Park is home to calm waters, pebble beaches, and ample fishing. The park is representative of the marine coastal landscape and provides access to the oceanfront in the community of Crofton. Off-leash dogs are welcome here year round.

Dogs are not allowed on Bowen Bay Beach during the months of July and August. During the rest of the year, dogs are allowed on Bowen Bay Beach as long as they are cleaned up after and on-leash. Bowen Bay Beach is a rocky swimming beach, known for its sunsets.
