Dog-Friendly Activities in North Dakota

Take a dog-friendly road trip on the Enchanted Highway in Regent, ND, a 30-mile stretch of road dotted with giant metal sculptures by artist Gary Greff. This is your chance to get a photo of your dog with a 38-foot-tall cow or 26-foot-tall buffalo.

Fido can join you in visiting the pet-friendly Fargo Air Museum in Fargo, ND. Here, visitors will learn about aviation and understand the importance of preserving the historical information around it. There are two large hangars filled with airplanes and memorabilia to explore.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a pet-friendly attraction in Medora, ND, established to preserve the rugged badlands in honor of the landscape's influence on Teddy Roosevelt. Fort Stevenson State Park in Garrison, ND, is dog friendly. Located on the north shore of Lake Sakakawea, this park offers interpretive trails, a prairie dog town, a visitor center and a campground. Dogs must be leashed at all times when visiting this recreation area.

Turtle River State Park is a pet-friendly recreational hub within Arvilla in Grand Forks, ND. Your furry friend can tag along to explore the area. The park features year-round activities, including 12 miles of hiking trails, kayaking, picnicking, and more. The CCC Memorial Shelter offers a picturesque setting to relax with your pup.

Leashed dogs are welcome on the patio in the summer months at Atypical Brewery & Barrelworks, a dog-friendly craft brewery located in Minot, ND. Try one of the brewery's specialty barrel-aged sour ales.

Bring Fido to exercise and socialize at Pepper's Dog Park in Jamestown, ND. This two-acre off-leash recreation space has separate sections for small and large dogs. There is also a water spigot and a doggie water fountain. Rules are posted at the entrance of the park.

Drekker Brewing Co. is pet-friendly. Bring your leashed pooch to this Fargo brewery taproom, where humans can sample an array of delicious brews devised and produced on-site. Hungry hounds can grab a bite to eat at one of the visiting food trucks. Kids are welcome until 7pm. Drekker Brewing Co. is open Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 10pm, Friday to Saturday from 12pm to 12am and Sunday from 12pm to 8pm.

Bring Fido to the dog-friendly roadside attraction of Sandy, the World's Largest Sandhill Crane in Steele, ND. This huge sculpture was inspired by the local wildlife that migrates through and enjoys summer in central North Dakota. Leashed dogs are welcome, as long as they are cleaned up after.

Fido is invited to play at the dog park at Spring Lake Park in Williston, ND. This fenced-in facility includes separate areas for large and small dogs and a shared agility area. Enter Spring Lake Park, then bear left at the fork.

Tractor Supply Co. in Grand Forks is pet-friendly. This chain DIY store welcomes dogs to join their owners throughout the store, as long as they are leashed and well-behaved. Bring your pooch along to help you sniff out a new wheelbarrow, buckets, feed and other supplies. Tractor Supply Co. is open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm and Sunday from 9am to 7pm.

Fido will love a visit to the DogTown Dog Park in Mandan, ND. This fenced-in recreation area is a great space for your pup to play and socialize without the constraints of a leash. The amenities of this park include a grassy area with culver tunnels, weave poles, bar jumps and more agility equipment.
