It's an easy, 5.5-mile trek in Oregon State Parks that will take about 2.5 hours to complete with Fido. Hiking along this trail will take you through open meadows and across a couple of water crossings. Be aware that much of this trail follows the road without a fence to block dogs from traffic. Banks-Vernonia State Trail The Banks-Vernonia State Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
