Rock falls and landslides are common in this area, so check the park's website in advance for closures or safety warnings. The trail is closed during the winter months.

During the summer, Golden Ears Provincial Park is extremely popular, especially on weekends. Visitors are advised that the park is subject to periodic closure to day-users and/or boaters when the day-use and/or boat launch parking lots fill to capacity. Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 2 metres (6-1/2 feet) at all times. Pets to stay out of beach areas and park buildings, unless the area is designated “Pets Permitted” by a sign.
