You and your pooch are invited to explore 20 miles of unpaved trails and a half-mile nature trail at the Lake Louisa parking lot. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash under six feet. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Dogs are welcome at Topsail Hill Preserve State Parkin Santa Rosa Beach, FL, named after the sand dunes in the area which supposedly have the appearance of boat sails dipping up and down. Unfortunately, Fido isn't welcome on the beaches or in any of the cabins at the park, but you can take Fido with you to enjoy the pet-friendly old-growth pine forests, sandy scrub land, dunes, and wetlands on one of the many hiking trails. There are ten miles of pathways that weave around the area and you can access all of the trail heads from the main car park. See Details
North Straub Park North Straub Park is 4.8-acre waterfront park in St. Petersburg, FL, where leashed dogs are welcome to join you on the recreation trail. Hontoon Island State Park Hontoon Island State Park is a pet-friendly island in DeLand, FL. You and Fido can only access this park by public ferry or private boat, so your pooch must be have their four sea legs ready. Once you're back on dry land, you can check out the eight miles of trails that weave around the island, including one that leads to Bear Tree Landing, the location of one of the largest oak trees on the Island. General James A. Van Fleet State Trail The General James A. Van Fleet State Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Polk City! The map below shows a trailhead where you can pick up the General James A. Van Fleet State Trail. Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has generously provided map data for this trail to Bring Fido for informational purposes only. Green Mountain Scenic Overlook & Trailhead Green Mountain Scenic Overlook and Trailhead is pet-friendly. This small county park is located a short distance west of Lake Apopka and offers the highest elevations in Central Florida, provding a sweeping panorama of the lake and Florida’s longest set of trail switchbacks. Highlands Hammock State Park Highlands Hammock State Park is a dog-friendly destination in Sebring, FL. Fido is welcome on hiking trails and bike trails, but not on the boardwalk. Lots of different wildlife calls this area their home, including deer, alligators, black bear, and the Florida panther. You'll notice ferns, air plants, and massive oaks lining the boardwalks and trails. There is a fee for entrance into the park, and dogs must be on a leash during their visit. See Details
Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park in Crawfordville, FL, is home to the world’s largest and deepest freshwater springs. You and Fido can check out the pet-friendly, 9-mile Nature Trail, leading through southern hardwood forests and maple-cypress habitats. There are a number of other trails in the park as well, including the Cherokee Sink Trail, which leads to an 80-foot-deep sinkhole lake. See Details

If Fido needs to use the bathroom, there are several waste stations that can be found along the pathways. There's also a large field in the area that can be used for exercising pups. Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park Bring Fido to the pet-friendly Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park in Tallahassee, FL. Dogs are not allowed in the gardens, swim areas or buildings, but there are tons of trails you can walk with your pup that lead to breathtaking lake views.
