Can I Bring My Dog to the Las Vegas Strip?

Posted by Billy Francis

The Las Vegas Strip is one of the most visited tourist attractions on the planet for humans, but where does it rank among the canine population? Don’t hedge your bets before a big trip to The Strip, and make sure you know what you and your dog can expect.

This famous street, officially known as Las Vegas Boulevard, stretches just over four miles through the heart of Sin City. Millions of monthly visitors from around the world flock here to see the bright lights and soak up the electric atmosphere. However, the extreme afternoon heat during summer and the unpredictable nature of the bustling crowds won’t suit every pup, which is part of the reason why leashed four-legged visitors are only allowed on the Strip during the quietest hours from 5 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Nomad Las Vegas

NoMad Las Vegas has more 5-bone ratings than any other pet-friendly hotel on The Strip. Fido will feel like he’s hit the jackpot when he sees the pet-friendly amenities on offer at this boutique hotel located at Park MGM. Pups receive treats at check-in and have access to the outdoor pet relief area when nature calls. If you feel like ordering room service, call in items from the dog menu for your pup, too. Don’t forget to treat your furry good luck charm to a Buddy Box which includes a bag of treats, a toy and a bandana. You can bring up to two dogs to NoMad Las Vegas for no additional fee, and if crated, they’re allowed to stay in the room while you visit the casino.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas welcomes guests to experience the lap of luxury at a 5-star resort. The pampering begins at check-in with a Pupjoy gift box, which includes all-natural treats, a toy, a water bowl and more. Take a break from your studio room with a fountain view and check out the two dog runs, including a fenced area near the Chelsea Pool. You can bring up to two dogs to The Cosmopolitan for an additional fee of $50 per pet, per night, and well-behaved four-legged guests may be left in the room unattended.

Caesars Palace

Located between Bellagio Las Vegas and The Mirage, Caesars Palace is another iconic resort that gives visiting pups the royal treatment on the west side of The Strip. The luxury hotel and casino offers a PetStay program that includes a welcome packet with directions to the hotel’s pet relief areas, dog walking routes and nearby pooch services. In-room amenities like a food mat and bowls, waste bags and dog treats are also provided. Caesars Palace welcomes two dogs up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $100 per night, plus a $100 refundable deposit per night. Ask reception about renting a crate if you plan on leaving your dog in the room.

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino

When the chips are down, be sure to up the ante and book a stay with your furry best friend at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Pups can enjoy the desert air from the outdoor pet walk and relief area, and back in the room, you can order dinner for your dog from the room service menu. Splurge for a Buddy Box for your good boy and he’ll receive treats, toys and a bandana. Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino welcomes two dogs with a combined weight of up to 100 lbs for an additional fee of $150 per pet, per night. While you’re grabbing a quick cocktail, you’re welcome to leave Fido in the room. The hotel will even check on your travel companion for a small fee and send a picture via text message to confirm he’s okay.

Can I Bring My Dog to a Casino?

Casinos usually won’t have a problem with you passing through the casino floor with your pooch, especially if you’re heading to your room, but casinos on The Strip only allow service dogs to stay awhile.

Instead, you can find fun beyond the casinos. Take Fido shopping at Fashion Show Mall, a pet-friendly mall just a short walk from The Mirage Hotel. Pups are welcome in most stores inside and there’s a fenced pet relief area outside, too. Don’t forget to feature your creature by tagging the mall at #fslvdogs and #bringfido. If you still want to embark on some “re-tail therapy,” visit Town Square, where you can shop until you drop on the lawn next to the fountain outside. Then, watch the famous gondolas with singing gondoliers float by on the Grand Canal while you enjoy dinner at Canonita at the Venetian Hotel. Additional pet-friendly dinner options on The Strip include Shake Shack and Beerhaus, and for breakfast, Crepe Expectations.

It never pays to gamble with your pup’s emotions, which is why a fun stay at a doggy daycare might be a great distraction for your dog while you’re exploring the City without Clocks. Camp Bow Wow Las Vegas is a short distance from The Strip and offers a place where “a dog can be a dog.” Four-legged guests are separated into groups depending on size and can play in an outdoor dog park or indoor space. While you’re trying your luck on the roulette wheel, you can check in with your dog on Camper Cam. Or, pamper your pooch at Luxe Pet Hotel instead. Located less than a mile from The Cosmopolitan, this amazing facility is home to outdoor runs, shaded cabanas, splash pads and an indoor climate-controlled obstacle play area.
