New Pet-Friendly Hotels: May 2023

May brings six hotels that are opening their doors to furry guests for the first time. From the Pine Tree State to the Sunshine State, Fido can rest his paws at these newly pet-friendly accommodations across America this month.

Lockwood Hotel

Modern elegance blends with old New England charm at Lockwood Hotel, a downtown haven for four-legged guests. Canine visitors receive yummy treats, fun chew toys and a stylish bandana upon arrival. Cozy rooms and spacious suites feature hard surface floors, sleeper sofa living areas, work desks and kitchenettes. Work out in the 24/7 fitness center, utilize complimentary WiFi access and grab a drink in the on-site bar/restaurant.

Fido can get his zoomies on at the nearby Waterville Area Dog Park, a fully fenced dog run with separate areas for small and large pups.

Treat Fido to a relaxing respite at Stanly Ranch Auberge Resorts Collection, the newest luxury resort in the heart of California wine country. Farmhouse-style rooms and suites are outfitted with hardwood floors, sofa seating areas, private fire pit terraces, and bathrooms with soaking tubs and indoor/outdoor showers. Go for a soothing swim in a mountain view pool, savor fine dining in one of four on-site restaurants, schedule a revitalizing spa treatment and join a group fitness class.

The adjacent Migration Winery allows furry sommeliers to join outdoor tastings and sample a delicious Barkuterie Board.

Stanly Ranch Auberge Resorts Collection accepts dogs of any size for an additional fee of $250 per stay.

Tru by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown

Canine speed demons visiting The Racing Capital of the World can park their paws in the brand new Tru by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown. Comfy rooms include laminated flooring, rolling desks, mini refrigerators and private bathrooms with walk-in showers. Guests can take advantage of excellent property amenities such as a free hot breakfast, fully equipped fitness center, 24/7 lobby market, and an entertainment area with foosball and board games.

Located two blocks away, Taxman CityWay serves gastropub eats and local brews on its dog-friendly patio.

Tru by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown welcomes a maximum of two pets of any size for an additional fee of $75 (for stays of 1 to 4 nights) and $125 (for longer stays).

Element Colorado Springs Downtown

Traveling Terriers exploring one of the Most Pet-Friendly Cities in the U.S. will find a restful night’s sleep at the Element Colorado Springs Downtown. Rooms designed for extended stays are supplied with laminated floors, sleeper sofas, writing desks, dining areas and full-sized kitchens. Take a dip in the heated indoor pool, exercise in a state-of-the-art gym, unwind in the fire pit lounge, feast on a complimentary hot breakfast and marvel at spectacular mountain views from the rooftop bar.

Housed in a historic church, the nearby Local Relic Artisan Ales provides an array of craft beer to sample on the dog-friendly patio.

Element Colorado Springs Downtown accepts a maximum of two dogs of any size for an additional fee of $50 per night (not to exceed $150 per stay).

Dog City USA is known for its eccentricity and the Foundry Hotel Asheville definitely fits the bill. A restored steel factory, this unique property offers industrial-themed rooms featuring exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, separate seating areas, ergonomic workspaces, flat-screen TVs and wet bars. Enjoy a drink on the courtyard patio, dine on Southern comfort food in the on-site restaurant and get a daily dose of cardio at the 24/7 gym. Pet owners may also book a Pup-arazzi Adventure Package that includes a branded bandana, locally made treats, a private dog photo session and a guided hiking tour.

Stroll two blocks to the Mast General Store, where leashed pups are allowed to browse for new knick-knacks.

Candlewood Suites Panama City Beach Pier

Whether staying for a night or a week, Candlewood Suites Panama City Beach Pier provides convenient accommodations for sun-seeking pups and their owners. Spacious suites are furnished with comfy sitting chairs, large work desks, and full kitchens equipped with refrigerators, cooktops and dishwashers. Work out in the on-site fitness center, cool off in the outdoor swimming pool and prepare dinner in the covered gazebo grill.

Four-legged beach bums can play in the surf at the nearby Dog Beach at Pier Park. Afterwards, take the short walk to Hook’d Pier Bar & Grill for a fresh seafood dinner on a pet-friendly deck overlooking the Gulf.
