Movies & Music on the Lawn - George Melies

A series of short films from pioneer director George Melies with music from Captain Green will be shown on a towering inflatable screen located on the lawn behind BRG inside BREC’s historic City Park. As always, the screening begins at 8 p.m. (or sundown – whichever comes last) and the $5 price of admission includes unlimited free popcorn. The theme of this year’s Movies & Music on the Lawn series, “Black and White to the Future,” will include silent-era films focusing on futuristic societies, inter-planetary expeditions, time travel and more. Representing a Movies & Music on the Lawn first, six different musical acts will perform never-before-heard scores during the series’ six-month duration, a different one for each event. Though not mentioned on the website, I called to ask if polite, leashed dogs are welcome at this event and was told that yes, they are. :)
