Foster Dogs NYC & New York Dog Nanny Present:
Little Dog Adoption Event
Saturday, July 21, 2012, 11am-3pm
126 Lexington Ave, 2nd Floor
New York, NY — Foster Dogs NYC and New York Dog Nanny are teamed up for a collaborative adoption event in Manhattan where they will try to find homes for many little New Yorkers. This joint effort is the start of what both dog organizations hope to be a long-standing regular event where dogs and prospective dog owners, prospective foster dogs, can finally meet one another.
What do both organizations have in common? The vision to bring more love and joy into the lives of dog lovers and dogs—be it for a few days, weeks or a lifetime. This event will be held at 126 Lexington Ave, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10016.
Attending the event will be two local nonprofit rescue groups with their adoptable small dogs (all weighing under 25 lbs each). This “Little Dog Adoption Event” will help bring attention to the many incredible dogs available for adoption.
NEW YORK DOG NANNY, a local professional dog care company was founded in 2010 by Cynthia Okimoto. Her long-term dedication to dogs began at a young age and as a young adult she helped foster and socialize rescued poodles and other small dogs in Seattle with her mom and sister. Her dog nanny company connects dog owners with carefully selected dog nannies throughout Manhattan and Queens so that dog owners can go on vacation, travel for work and/or concentrate on their work while a devoted dog nanny looks after their pup. www.newyorkdognanny.com.
FOSTER DOGS NYC is proud to have a pool of dog fostering and rescue agencies they partner with throughout the New York Metropolitan Area. Created in 2009 by Sarah Oren, this site is updated daily with dogs in the NYC-area in need of homes, be it temporary or long-term. Sarah also runs her dog matchmaking service The Dog Matchmaker (www.thedogmatchmaker.org), in which she helps families find their best adoptable dog match. FosterDogsNYC.com is eager to help connect possible adopters with wonderful dogs and fabulous nonprofit rescue groups.

In attendance will be several small dogs from rescue groups Rescuzilla and Anarchy Animal Rescue, both based in New York City. These two groups rescue dogs and cats from the local ACC (Animal Care & Control) shelter, where they would otherwise be euthanized.
According to the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS), a non-profit trade association, pet ownership in this country continues to steadily increase with 63 percent of all American households having at least one pet. Many people are unaware that they can find the pet what they are hoping for through adoption, rather than purchasing from a breeder. Foster Dogs NYC and New York Dog Nanny hope to increase awareness about the beauty of pet adoption.
