Weather permitting, leashed dogs are welcome each Thursday to enjoy an evening of live music with the beautiful background of the Toccoa River. Picnic tables are available, and there's a grassy lawn where visitors are welcome to set up their own blankets or lawn chairs.

This dog-friendly day party brings pets and their people together for a fun-filled celebration featuring a marketplace of pet vendors and businesses. Guests can shop for treats, accessories and other pet goodies while enjoying food trucks, refreshing beverages and a lively atmosphere.

Participants will walk, jog or run along the scenic, hilly course that winds through the 230-acre property, offering glimpses of retired research chimpanzees in their forested habitats. This event provides a rare opportunity to visit the sanctuary, which is not typically open to the public, while supporting the care of over 80 rescued chimps. Along the way, attendees can enjoy interactive educational stations, learn about chimp conservation, and take part in fun, family-friendly activities. The race is designed to be inclusive for all fitness levels, with no pressure to complete it within a set time. Those who attend are invited to bring a donation for the Humane Society. In the event of rain, simply drive through Grace Church's covered driveway along Boulevard to receive a blessing!

Dachshund-mix dogs may race in special “Almost Wiener” heat, but are ineligible for the grand prize trophy run.
