Modern-Chic Cabin - 10 Minutes to Lassen Near Kings Creek Falls
The quietest, closest stay to Lassen's south entrance is also the newest — a modern cabin at 5,000 ft in Mineral. Book fall hiking now through October and early November, then settle in as snow arrives: nearby cross-country ski and snowshoe trails await, and we provide the snowshoes. Wood stove, loft yoga studio, Sonos, Starlink, and Level 2 EV charging keep you comfortable through the shift. Book your fall-into-winter Lassen stay.
This is a quiet, well-positioned cabin — the closest stay to Lassen's south entrance, built for guests who want comfort after a day on the trail. Double-pane windows keep it peaceful, a wood stove keeps it warm, and a sleek, fully-equipped kitchen keeps dinner simple.
What You’ll Love About This Place:
A Living Room Made For Slowing Down:
Sink into the sofas by the crackling wood stove, put on some music through Sonos, or reach for the books and board games on a rest-day afternoon. Roku TV covers the rest.
Every Detail, Considered:
Sliding barn doors and high-end fixtures carry a thoughtful, modern mountain look through every room.
A loft Built For Stillness:
Yoga mats and an exercise ball turn the loft into a quiet spot for a morning stretch or an evening wind-down, framed by mountain views.
A Comfortable Night's Sleep:
The primary suite's king bed (plus work desk and reading lights) is built for real rest. The second bedroom pairs a queen with a narrow twin — great for kids — and the loft's queen futon adds room when you need it.
A Deck For Morning Coffee And Dark Skies:
The 144 sq. ft. Trex deck, ringed by tall pines, is the spot to linger over coffee. Mineral's registered Dark Sky status means the Milky Way shows up right on cue.
A Kitchen Built To Actually Cook In:
Premium appliances and an Instant Pot handle real meals, while the coffee bar — Hario pour-over, Ninja coffee maker, Mokapot, and burr grinder — makes mornings easy.
A Bathroom That Keeps Up With The Trail:
Dual sinks, a roomy shower, and a tankless water heater mean hot water never runs out. The full-size washer and dryer handle dusty gear after a hike like Cinder Cone.
Stay Online, Stay Charged:
300 Mbps Starlink keeps the whole group connected, and the Level 2 EV charger (J1772) fits Tesla, Rivian, and most other EVs.
Nothing Left to Pack:
Bedding, bath linens, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, and household basics are already here.
More than a rental — this is a quiet, well-stocked mountain basecamp for exploring Lassen's south entrance, in every season.
**OTHER THINGS TO NOTE**
SECURITY CAMERAS
Please note that we have an exterior security camera up front facing the driveway and the steps to the cabin.
STEPS TO THE CABIN
Our cabin is on a hill side and there are twenty five steps down to the cabin from where you park next to the road. You would need to take your luggage and supplies down the steps to the cabin. There is no handicap ramp to the door. Please plan accordingly.
DRINKING WATER
We are on city water with a whole house filter and a Brita filter in the kitchen. Please bring your reusable water bottles and save money and our planet from plastics. Thanks!
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING
We have a level 2 EV charger in the property for an additional cost. We will let you know exactly how much you used during your stay and charge you what the power company will charge us for KWH used at the end of your trip. Tesla owners, don't forget to get your J1772 adapter!
NO DISHWASHER
We do NOT have a dishwasher. So, someone in your group must become the designated one :-)
INTERNET/CELLULAR
We have Starlink High Speed Internet! Your entire group can be on Zoom calls and stream entertainment without any buffering! You also have good cellular signal on major carriers.
WINTER DRIVING AWD/4WD
In winter, typically November through April, you should plan to travel to our home in a 4WD/AWD and carry chains. We are on a county maintained road but highway conditions can change anytime and CalTrans could enforce chain control anytime under heavy snow.
HEATING
We have a modern propane heater in the living area that keeps all the rooms warm in winter. Just set the desired temperature in the smart thermostat and you should be comfortable through your stay. Of course, our wood stove heats up the cabin wonderfully with amazing ambiance.
COOLING
We do not have central air nor do we need one. We are at 5000 ft, among tall 100+ foot trees. The house is naturally pleasant all summer. We have ceiling fans in every room to keep things cool even in warm afternoons.
PETS
We are pet-friendly and allow a maximum of two pets. If you are bringing your pet, please let us know when you book. We charge $60/pet/stay for additional cleaning. Below are the house rules that you MUST follow:
- Pet must be house broken
- Pets are NOT allowed on any furniture or beds
- Pet MUST NOT be left unattended at home anytime
- You should pick up after the pet in and around the property
EXTERIOR SECURITY CAMERA
We have a security camera looking out from the front of the house to monitor the driveway and the path to the house.
