Description
The Louisville State Recreation Area is set on the south bank of the Platte River, not far from the town of Louisville, Nebraska. It's a great base for exploring the wonders of the Platte River State Park. The recreation area spans some 192 acres and includes five sandpit lakes with 50 surface acres of water for fishing, swimming, and non-power boating (electric motors are allowed outside swimming areas). The campground includes all the amenities, from modern restrooms and bathhouse to a children's playground. There are over 200 all-weather camping pads with electric hook-ups, and a few more without electricity as well as many non-designated sites for more primitive camping.
