Description
Located only seven miles northwest of Meridian, MS on Okatibbee Creek, Okatibbee Lake is an important feature in the development of the Pascagoula River Basin. Today, the beautiful waters of the lake and the surrounding forests provide excellent recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, camping, hunting, and enjoying the parks. Camping enthusiasts may choose between Twiltley Branch Campground, operated by the Corps of Engineers and Okatibbee Water Park, operated by the Pat Harrison Waterway District. Both campgrounds have electric, water and sanitary facilities. Camping fees are charged to help offset the costs of operation and maintenance.
