Grand Hotel Portoroz is an elegant hotel, part of a spa complex in Portoroz near the beach and the Mediterranean Sea. It is situated 13 miles from Trieste. The facility enjoys an ideal setting in the very heart of Portoroz, on the main promenade overlooking the picturesque bay of Piran. The hotel boasts excellent dining facilities, one of the restaurants features a fine selection of fondues, flambe dishes, and front cooking. One can also taste the traditional local dishes and selected Slovenian wines at the Fogoler Istrian Taverna. Guests can relax in the pleasant atmosphere of the garden and the cafe offering fresh homemade pastries during the day or join in the evening entertainment program with piano music, prominent guests, and special events on different days. In the summer, one can relax and soak up the sun on the exclusive hotel beach or the spacious sun terrace with deck, chairs, and sunshades. The Spa features special personalized programs in harmony with nature that help refuel the body with new energy. Guests can aslo visit the Thermal Spa and Wellness Palace Center where they can dip in the swimming pools with thermo mineral water, relax in one of the saunas, or choose from the offer of massages, beauty and relaxation programs, or thalasso and therapeutic treatments. All 185 guest rooms have air-conditioning, cable TV, radios, safes, minibars, and Internet access. Some rooms have balconies. Children aged two and under can stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. Children aged three- six years, in a twin room, will receive a 20 percent discount. Children aged 7-11 years, in a twin room, will receive a 10 percent discount. Children aged 3-11, in a three or four-bedroom unit will receive a 50 percent discount with two adults. Additional adults in the three or four-bedroom unit will receive a 20 percent discount.
