  Decent stay

  Hotel was very nice but the staff representing the restaurant and bar were bad, and the valet had waves of many people wanting tips. One positive: a very nice park across the street that was open to pets.

  Great Hotel

  Dog park right across the hotel, beautiful park. Plus, the staff was great and extremely helpful and accommodating! Great hotel even without the dogs, I have 2!

  Great stay

  Beautiful hotel. Winnie was super comfortable. We did not receive the royal treatment mentioned in other comments, but we were well prepared and really didn’t need it. Everyone was very kind, and the location was great. Lots of green space, and with just a short walk up the riverwalk, you’re right in town where all the action is. We will be back!

  Clean Hotel

  Nice, clean hotel. Staff was great. Room was very nice. Nice area across the street to walk the dog. No real view from my room. Not the best location to get to the main strip. Need to drive to get to anywhere nice. Not that anything was extremely far, but I would not feel safe walking to and from the hotel at night.

  Dogs were happy. No special dog attention. It would have been nice to get a bowl for water. But overall good experience.

  The FRIENDLIEST!

  We were SO nervous bringing a 100 lb husky to a hotel, and the crew at the Thompson made us feel SO loved and SO welcome. Tristan made sure our room was set up with a dog bed and bowls, and made sure to highlight beautiful areas to walk around. Sites to see (like Forrest Gump's bench), and other dog-friendly places in the area! Bernard made sure our 10-year-old son got to see the view from the roof before it was too late for him to go up there, and both Tristan and Bernard (plus a plethora of AMAZING people all working at the hotel) were instrumental in helping our husky find the stairs when we discovered he's afraid of elevators! We will definitely be requesting the lowest floor possible next time we visit, because there will DEFINITELY be a next time.

  Great location and hotel!

  My husband and I stayed overnight with our Golden Retriever on our drive down to Florida. The hotel was beautiful and the location was amazing, I was sad that we were only there for such a short stay! Highly recommend!!

  Dog Tolerant

  I chose this hotel because of the 5-bone rating, but was left perplexed by why it was rated so highly. My room was not ready when I arrived, so after a 6 hour drive I had to wait in the lobby while wrangling two nervous pups for about an hour. The lobby was crowded and there was a DJ; it was like a party was going on every time I walked my dogs through to take them outside. The hotel itself was fine, had I not been traveling with my dogs (although besides the room not being ready, I also ordered room service since dogs can't be left alone in the room. I couldn't get ahold of in room dining, so the front desk took my order and long story short, in room dining never got it. They came an hour and a half later and were very apologetic, saying they wouldn't charge me for it....but then it showed up on my final bill. I'm giving it 2 bones because there is a nice grassy area outside for the dogs to do their business. But otherwise I would not stay here again.

  Great hotel

  Very pet friendly hotel. Large grassy area out the front door. Staff was very professional & accommodating. Check-in was backed up and concierge offered guests in line a beer and dogs a treat. Valet was very helpful holding luggage and keeping dogs distracted during longer check in times than normal. Hotel not within walking distance to restaurants but hotel offers courtesy car.

  Fun and luxurious

  "no pet fee" attracted me to Thompson Savannah. It is a luxurious and friendly hotel. It is in a very pet-friendly area by the shores of the Savannah River. We loved it.

  The hotel was gorgeous! Great location with nice size rooms! Not only did the welcome my husband and I with a beer but they welcomed our large dog with lots of love and treats!

  Very dog friendly. Nice park across the hotel where the dogs can run around and do their business. Nice modern and clean hotel. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

  Puppy Paradise

  Great stay at this hotel with my 2 dogs. We weren’t offered any of the extras (bed, bowls, treats) but otherwise it was a wonderful stay! Easy walk to downtown Savannah and would stay here again

  A fun stay!

  The Thompson was so welcoming to us and our two small spaniels! The room was nice with a big window to see the container ships coming into the harbor. You can eat and drink at the bar/restaurant in the lobby area and there is plenty of grassy space across the street.

  Wonderful Place to Stay with your Fur Baby

  We absolutely loved the Thompson Savannah! We brought our 2 German Shepherds and they were well-loved during our visit. The rooms are comfortable and there’s a huge green space outside the hotel for walks and relief. The hotel restaurant is not dog-friendly, but that didn’t really affect us at all. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The service was excellent and we felt our babies were well loved here. Will definitely stay here again!

  Very cool place. Close to the river walk. Plenty of areas to walk your dog. Parking was a bit of a pain because we did not choose to use their parking service but all in all we loved it. A bit pricey but a very nice place

  I 100% recommend this hotel! What an amazing staff, location and they are so welcoming with our pets! Ordered dinner from Julian's and it was delicious. Will definitely stay again on my way back home!

  Spring Break Retreat

  I love to travel with my sweet boy everywhere we go! finding a place that is welcoming of him is absolute Heaven. We stayed at Thompson for 2 nights while we explored Savannah. It was perfection. Thank you Thompson for allowing and welcoming fur babies!

  Big Disappointment

  After traveling all day we waited hours for our room to get ready. All we were told was they couldn’t tell us how long it was going to take. It’s very hard to hang out in the lobby with your dog who was also tired and hungry. Finally had to give up and go elsewhere. Having a reservation didn’t seem to make any difference to the hotel. This hotel has no parking. You had to park on the streets or in a garage across the street and pay $2 per hour and no security.

  Extraordinary pet-friendly hotel! Gorgeous premier suite riverfront corner with very comfortable king bed (sofa bed not so much-maybe add a better mattress). Lovely staff, incredible actually. Huge area between river and hotel to walk dogs and they brought bowl set for our dog. Highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

  Great dog friendly hotel. Staff are friendly and there were so many dogs! Nice area to walk your fur baby also and even get a drink down in the lounge. Room service food was good also. I will be back.

  Absolutely loved our stay at the Thompson. We sat in the lobby for a drink with our dogs and they were brought water bowls and got plenty of pets from guests and staff alike! We felt very welcomed and will definitely be back in the future.

  Everyone was super friendly with our Boston Terriers. The location is great with River Street just a small walk away. There is a great grassy area just across from the hotel that's perfect for walks.

  Genuine Hospitality

  We stopped to stay the night on our road trip from FL to MA with our German Shepherd. Our stay was beyond expectations. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming to our dog - especially the doorman, Mo :) The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and walking distance from the attractions of town. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!

  Water outside at arrival. Amanda, our dog concierge, welcomed us with treats and a dog friendly map of restaurants. She had not heard of BringFido😳. This hotel is worth every penny and dog service is the best.

  Excellent Accomodations

  Very dog friendly and easy check in. Room was clean and nicely appointed. Our Winston loved looking out the window to the swimmers in the pool below! Lots of good space to walk, and plenty of waste stations to properly clean up after!! Walked to Joe‘s Crabshack and sat on the patio with our Winston for dinner!!

  This is a great pet friendly place to stay in Savannah. The staff were friendly. Easy access for potty time and nice walk to downtown historic area. Room was comfortable and clean and tidy. Highly recommend.

  A beautiful hotel, contemporary, and very new. The best pet friendly hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Very well maintained and a limited menu room service is available. Nice park area right out the front of the hotel for walking the dogs. In house restaurant also very nice.

  Loved this hotel. Very accommodating to our 2 year old dog. She even was able to sit at the bar with us while we had drinks. The hotel is 5 bones! Great drinks, food and views. I would visit again when in Savannah.

  Relatively new hotel with attention to every little detail from a design perspective. All of the staff is super friendly. It is a little further from the downtown area but a nice walk along the River Walk gets you to all the restaurants and shops or you could take the free river ferry that allows dogs. So many guests staying with their dogs and the huge outside gardens facing the river makes it feel like its own community. Savannah is very dog friendly and this hotel is no exception.

  Has potential

  Overall our stay was great and we loved being able to have our dogs with us! You can definitely tell the hotel is newer though and that they are working out the kinks. The walls are very thin, they put us in an adjoining room and we could hear everything next door. Considering how much it costs to stay there we didn’t expect this. Also, we had left our water bowls in our car (which was valeted) and when we asked the front desk agent if they had any bowls we could use, he was not very friendly or helpful.

  When we arrived the staff was very welcoming to our dog. Offered a dog bed and bowls at check in. She got lots of love from everyone. Staff and hotel are extremely dog friendly. We will definitely be back!

  ! we stopped at the Thompson on our way from Massachusetts to Florida. And we loved it so much. It was beautiful and comfortable and everything felt new and clean. And the stuff was super friendly and helpful. They were very dog friendly. And the location was great for taking our pup out for a walk. They had a big park out front for a short walk or we could take the path by the river and take a longer walk. We liked it so much we stayed again on the way back to Massachusetts.

  Great place!

  Beautiful room, fantastic rooftop bar, best staff ever (looking at you, Bruce, Maurice, Amanda, and Bernard). They treated our dog Ginger like a rock star; her collar doesn’t fit over her head anymore.
