The Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa in Astoria Oregon is a forty-six unit upscale boutique hotel which will offer its customers a glimpse into Astoria-s historic and bustling waterfront past.The pier extends 600 feet into the Columbia River and will provide hotel guests unparalleled views. From this vantage point the guest feels like a participant in the river traffic not just a spectator. Located at the mouth of the river this site was originally the Union Fishermans Cooperative Packing Company which processed and canned salmon tuna and various other Northwest fish. At one time Astoria was the salmon canning capital of the world and its bustling waterfront was like a mini San Francisco.
