Uneventful but incorrect info on Qatar's website

We moved our dog from Bangkok to Mozambique in March of 2019. The service was good- uneventful (which is what you want). The dog arrived safely at the destination.

The only issue is/was that Qatar Airways has bad info about the import requirements for Mozambique on their site. They list a Rabies Titer Test as required but it is not. This caused a lot of stress. We had the import permit in hand but was not sure they would let my dog through at check-in (they did). Years later, I'm still trying to get them to update the information on the website.

But the service was inexpensive, straightforward, and courteous. Dog arrived without incident.

    Don’t Use Qatar

Was promised booking a flight with my dog would be easy & to “just buy the airline ticket” multiple times by Qatar staff. As soon as the ticket was purchased they lied to me & said I cannot bring my dog on board. After being told multiple times I would be contacted about this issue & hearing nothing from them, I had to call my bank to dispute the charge because they lied to me. Warning: do not fly Qatar. Their customer service is non-existent. Staff will also repeatedly lie to you to get you off the phone.

    Qatar Codeshare Problems

I have heard that Qatar is great with taking care of pets. However, as I booked my travel through American, my flights were split with a codeshare - one with an AA flight # and another with a QR flight #, both operated by Qatar - because American does not fly to my destination. Despite repeated attempts (over 30 separate calls at least) to convince Qatar customer service that it was only possible to add my pets to my reservation through them (and not American as they did not operate the flight), I am at a loss to add my pets in advance and can only hope the agents at the counter can help me when I show up with my 2 dogs the day of travel. Additionally, the Qatar customer service helped me and added a support ticket for pet services for my initial travel date, but I had to push my travel date by about 2 months. When trying to explain and provide the reference # for the support ticket, I was still met with the same explanation that their system didn’t allow them to take action (even though they did so earlier in April 2022 for my initial May 2022 travel). American also did not help, but I understood their position better as they do not own the plane and did not have the cargo/checked bagged specs for the plane. This has added a great deal of anxiety for myself and my wife as we attempt to move our family abroad. It’s 2022 people, isn’t there away to have this figured out by now? Cant i conference call both airlines? No, “that’s not policy. You have to call them (American/Qatar) yourself.” I’m tired of getting sent on a wild goose chase, primarily by Qatar.
