Entry Requirements
Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Singapore with your pet:
- All pet owners must obtain a veterinary health certificate from a licensed veterinarian that certifies pets are safe for import, vaccinated, healthy enough to travel and free from any clinical sign of contagious or infectious disease.
- Animals must be fitted with a valid ISO-standard microchip.
- Before you travel, check which Category country you are arriving from. This will determine which vaccinations are required and quarantine details. A category breakdown can be found at the above link.
- Dogs and cats being transported into Singapore from Category B, C, or D countries must have a valid rabies vaccination supported by vaccination records. Current vaccinations and booster date must be recorded. At least 30 days after the original vaccination, a rabies titer test showing at least 0.5 IU/ml level of immunity must also be obtained.
- Dogs must be vaccinated against canine distemper, canine hepatitis and canine parvoviral infection with proof.
- Pets imported into Singapore will be charged a Goods and Services Tax upon arrival.
- Pit Bulls, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Bulldog and crosses of these breeds are not permitted to enter Singapore.
- Obtain a dog license, starting at $15, before you apply for an import license. There is a step-by-step guide to apply for a license at the above link.
- Book a pet inspection via the Intelligent Food Approval & Safety Tracking System (iFAST) five days before you arrive to avoid an S$80 fee. If you're flying to Singapore, this inspection will take place at the border control office located at Changi Airfreight Centre.
Quarantine Information
Dogs and cats from Category C or D countries must be quarantined at the Animal Quarantine Centre (AQC) upon arrival. Dogs and cats from Category C countries must be quarantined for at least 10 days upon arrival and pets from Category D countries must be quarantined for 30 days. Dogs and cats from Category A or B countries do not need to be quarantined if they meet all the necessary requirements listed above.
