Entry Requirements

Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Trinidad and Tobago with your pet:
  • Apply for an import permit from the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) via email at aphmalmr@gmail.com at least 6 weeks before travel to allow for processing.
  • Pets must be microchipped, have a valid health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian in the country of origin, which includes proof of rabies vaccination administered at least 6 months before travel, and provide a rabies blood test at least a month before travel.
  • Contact the Veterinary Office with flight information at least 28 hours and no more than 48 hours in advance of travel.
  • Upon arrival, pet owners will pay a $10 fee and be issued a landing permit if pets are deemed healthy and all the correct documentation is provided.
  • Pets are now permitted to enter Trinidad and Tobago by air via cabin, checked baggage or cargo.

Quarantine Information

Pets traveling to Trinidad and Tobago from Dogs and cats from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Barbados, Belgium, Dominica, Great Britain, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Malta, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Singapore, St. Kitts/Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and Sweden do not need to be quarantined if they meet all the necessary requirements listed above. If you are traveling from the U.S. or another country not listed, your pet may be quarantined for up to 30 days and be subject to rabies serum antibody testing. To qualify for reduced 30 day quarantine, you must apply for a space for your pet at least three months before travel. Additional fees apply.
