Dinner on the Creek

We use a dog “stroller “ to get around and once we got on the sidewalk it was easy to roll right in with our dog, Lily. We ate indoors right alongside the creek. Good local shrimp and fish. Lily didn’t make a sound and just enjoyed the view.

Enjoyable Lunch

We sat outside alongside the Chef’s garden of vegetables planted along the sidewalk, and enjoyed delicious, big sandwiches for lunch (Philly Cheesesteak and Softshell Crab) and our pup was treated to a biscuit by our waitress. Great menu, good prices and pup friendly.

A beautiful park and facilities

Such a gorgeous, wild beachy park! Passenger vehicle entry is $6.00 and the Park Ranger is kind and informative. Two miles down the pleasant drive is parking area with bathrooms and pavilions. Across the road is a boardwalk trail out to the slough - so convenient for us with our Miniature Dachshund in her stroller! No dogs allowed on the beach, but this made for a nice little hike.

Magical and friendly

What a beautiful feast for the eyes of flowers, plants and garden scapes. We brought our Miniature Dachshund, Lily, with us in her new stroller and it was so easy to get around . Lunch was delicious sandwiches from the Garden Party. An absolute delight!

Beautiful park and great exercise

This was a great achievable adventure for our mini doxie who did a fabulous job of sticking to the walkway. What a treat to enjoy this gorgeous garden with our pet.

A Most Excellent Adventure!

Captain John is totally amazing, so chockful of history and humor. He personally greeted Lily and told his own pooch at home his the center of his world too! While it was a cold, windy and cloudy evening (no sunset to be seen) the trip was fabulous! Lily (our miniature dachshund) was all bundled up but she enjoyed peeking out at the folks on the boat and through the window. We saw dolphin and wild horses! Definitely a pooch and people perfect trip! (they even have blankets to hand out when it is chilly, so nice!)

Nice small park, but not much shade

This was our Miniature Dachshund’s first trip to a dog park and just the ability to be off leash and run was such a thrill! Only one other owner with a Rat Terrier more interested in chasing lizards. She told us they had just removed a huge oak because it was rotted. So, we’ll save this park for cooler, overcast days!

Huge area for little dogs!

We were surprised by the size of this park, sooo much room for our Miniature Dachshund to explore. Lots of shade and benches for people to rest too. We just gave Lily a bath so the large areas of sand were a bummer, more for us than her! A woman with a pit Bull was in the small dog side, but apologized and left when we showed up. Then two other owners with small dogs arrived and all five dogs got along great! It made us owners so happy too. We all walked about and picked up what were obviously the feces of large dogs left by rude owners!! Despite that, I’m sure we’ll return.
