If venturing to quirky and extremely dog-friendly Roswell, New Mexico, The Roswell Inn is a great place to stay. The rooms are basic but clean (with the exception of someone else’s hair on the shower wall) and the bed very comfortable. Being a “motel” style hotel, all the rooms are on the ground level. This is very convenient if you have to take the dogs out in the middle of the night. Parking is right outside your room - a great convenience even when traveling without dogs.

La Quinta’s are clean, comfortable, and convenient. Until recently we never considered another hotel chain when traveling with our dogs. Suddenly they are charging a pet fee. In the future we may consider looking at other hotel chain options.

My husband and I stayed a night accompanied by our two dogs while on a cross country trip. Room was a bit small but very clean, had a comfortable bed, and a good shower. There was a mini fridge and mini microwave. Being one level “motel” style, we could park directly in front of our room which was very convenient for bringing in luggage. There was plenty of grass for walking the dogs and no dog fee! So this stay was a real bargain.
