Great evening activity for dogs.
Ghost Tours of QuebecOur dog was completely welcome, as the tour is outside. It was neat to see some different parts off the usual tourist places and hear the stories. Not scary. No actors, just the guide in character. Be aware that this part of old Québec City is very hilly. The guide waited for everyone to gather at each stop, which was kind for slower folks. The tour starts down on le Petit Champlain, but ended up up up at the courtyard of the Séminaire de Québec, so it is not a loop, and you are walking uphill the whole way, with stops to hear about the executions, tragedies, and murders from real history. There were not many stories about hauntings, so not necessarily the “ghost” tour one might be expecting.
Amazing place!
Parc de la Chute-MontmorencyThere are a number of things one could do at this place, from hikes to zip lines to taking in the view from the suspension bridge or the cable car, to having something to eat. Dogs are allowed everywhere except the Montmorency Manor, which seemed perfectly reasonable. We took our 75 lb Lab-Rottie up the cable car, for lovely wooded walk along the cliff side, back and forth across the suspension bridge, and in the main building where we grabbed something to eat. We will definitely go back to take in more trails at the base of the falls, which we didn’t have time for.
Fun funicular
Funiculaire du Vieux-QuébecAny dog any size seems completely welcome for free on the Funicular. our dog is a 75 lb Lab-Rottie, who was a little nervous on the first trip (up) that we took, but on another day (going down) he seemed completely fine. The cost per person is now $5.00 CAN, and it’s cash only.
Poor service
Pub L'Oncle AntoineWent for a quick drink and bite to eat. They didn’t seem to care whether our dog was with us or not. There was ample room on their patio. They neither offered nor brought any water for our dog (good thing we bring a dog-drinking water bottle with us). we sat for a good while before asked for our orders, we’re not really helpful at recommendations, then after 15 minutes, we still didn’t have any drinks. We left.
Delicious and Delightful
Salt & Sol Restaurant and LoungeAny dog is allowed on their outdoor dining area (raised deck), including our 75 lb Lab-Rottie. The server asked if we wanted water for our dog before we got a chance to ask, and they had actual pet bowls to use! The place is right above the Yacht Club, so the upper deck looks over the shipyard with great views. we were able to watch a sailing regatta. The food is extremely delicious! our pup was pretty tired, so mostly slept under the table, lol.
