Dog agility competitor with Havanese and Miniature Schnauzer

I stay here twice a year on my travels. Unfortunately this Motel 6 no longer maintains their fenced pet area, which was my main reason for choosing this location. Spring through Fall the pet area is full of foxtails, which are very dangerous to dogs. I have left several comments for them in the last year or 2 but no improvement. In Winter at least there are no foxtails. There is a large unfenced grassy area in the back, but at my recent stay it was not even mowed, grass at least 6" high. I still like the friendly staff and nice, basic rooms. I am very disappointed that they no longer maintain the outside.

The owners were friendly and helpful. $20 pet fee per pet! The room was nicely remodeled and spacious enough for a queen bed and an easy chair. There was a minifridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. It was mostly clean except the corners need sweeping. There was a hair tie on the floor in one corner. The towels were very nice for a budget motel. I had an outdoor access room with parking right by the door. There was no gap in the door as some reviewers have mentioned. The drapes kept the light out. It was smoky from wildfires outside and I could not use the A/C as it sucked the smoke in. There was plenty of clean grassy areas to walk the dog. There were no creeps hanging around, it felt safe. The continental breakfast was cereal or waffles. There were no grab & go options like muffins, yogurt, or pastries.

Wow, just wow. Nicest Motel 6 ever. Three story building with elevator. My standard 1 King room had a kitchen/sitting area with fridge, microwave, sink, counter and cupboards. Also couch, coffee table, desk, dresser, suitcase table, and bathtub. There was a beautiful etched glass divider between the bed and kitchen/sitting area. The room was spotless, no bugs. I requested a balcony, which overlooked a small RV park and industrial area. But it was so nice to be able to keep the slider open (it even had a screen door) and the dogs loved the balcony.
There are a few rooms with bay view. At $100 in June 2024, the price was in line with other Motel 6's along the West Coast. A few small grassy spots in the parking lot for pet area, and long grassy area along the road. Down some stairs at the far end of the parking lot there is a large grassy pet area. I was surprised to see some poor reviews. On Motel 6 website the pics show a big variety in the amenities (or lack-of) of the rooms, so request what you want. Location is across the bridge from town, so nice and quiet but you do need to drive into town to eat.

Traveling with pets, I usually stay at Motel 6, since most hotel's pet fees jack up the rate by $50-$100 per night. My requirements are very basic - clean, no bugs, safe (no creeps hanging around). This location is older, very small and run down. Car parts in the lobby. Half of the building backs up to the freeway. I requested a quiet room and on the manager's advice had to stay upstairs to get a room not on the freeway side. It was very quiet. Large 1 King room with micro and fridge, and couch. The couch was very old, peeling “leather” but actually really comfortable. Office staff live-in manager (owner?) was really nice. Clean, no bugs. No riff-raff. Quiet all night. Medium-size grassy dog area which was actually clean! Wifi works well. Hot water was lukewarm.

Standard La Quinta room, very nice and spacious. Small fridge and microwave. No pet fee! Pet room smelled awful, had carpet. Bring air freshener! Bathtub was stained. Clean, no bugs. Airport across the street but no airplane noise in room. Heavy drapes kept out light. There were also shears so you could have light and still have privacy. Fast wifi. Hot breakfast available. Staff friendly and helpful. Large parking lot. No scary people hanging around.

I had a large single king bed room. Standard Motel 6 remodel, but with a booth in the corner. Very friendly staff. Comfortable bed with 3 pillows in 2 different softness levels. Fridge and microwave. Sink sprays water on me. Clean, no bugs, smoke-free, no smell. Room very hot. A/C took a long time to cool off. Thick curtain liner kept out all light. Flat screen TV. Fast wifi! Very few cars in parking lot, end of June mid-week. No one living there, no unsavory characters hanging around. My rating is compared to other Motel 6s and budget motels.

Low price but $15 fee per pet. Very old in and out, decorated in a cute western style. Full size fridge, microwave. Wifi very slow. Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean, no bugs. No unsavory characters hanging around. Neighborhood feels safe. No pet area, dirt alley behind building. Rusty window A/C. Quiet, comfortable bed.
