Amazing Fall day with my dog
Biltmore EstateAs noted above, leashed dogs are allowed on the grounds/gardens, but not in the house. Be sure to park in the “park and walk to the estate” section A, as pups are not allowed on the shuttles. Don’t miss the quick detour to the Statue of Diana (can find on a google map.). Bring water for them and just let them sniff away! We are on a great road trip in search of great estates like Monticello and Barboursville who let dogs on the grounds. Definitely worth the price.
We didn’t eat on property. We picked up sandwiches at a nearby Fresh Market and picnicked on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The third week of October seemed to be a great time to see the mums and leaves in full color. Stayed in Biltmore Village at the Grand Bohemian which is super dog friendly! Everyone goes out of their way to make my dog Ribeye is enjoying his stay!
Ribeye’s Favorite Hotel
Grand Bohemian Asheville Autograph CollectionThe GB is my dog’s favorite hotel, hands down! They smothered him in kisses and hugs on arrival. They have treats, baggies, portable water bowl, and bed for the room. He specifically likes room 232 with the balcony so he can eat his meals outside and watch walkers below. We stayed and visited the Biltmore gardens, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Antique car museum—all dog friendly. Many dog friendly restaurants within walking distance including The Cantina and The Corner Kitchen. Go!
Overwhelmed by their kindness
The Cantina at Historic Biltmore VillageThe Cantina has been the most dog friendly restaurant on our dog-focused road trip. Outdoor seating is ample. You order/pay outside on the covered patio, then pick up a dog bowl/fill with water. This is important if you are traveling solo with a dog. The patio is enormous with plenty of room for your dog to feel comfortable. The kind staff showered him with love and attention.
