Challenging hike, gorgeous view
Stowe Pinnacle Trailthis was a tough hike for us, but the pup absolutely loved it. he enjoyed meeting humans and pups along the way, and the freedom we allowed him in the steeper parts (website confirmed dogs are allowed off leash if in sight and under voice control)
view is worth the scrambling if you and your pup and reasonably fit. this is definitely a hike to use hiking poles or find a good stick on the way up!
Challenging hike, great views
Pinnacle Meadows Trailif you just do the pinnacle meadow trail, it’s a slow steady uphill, a nice lookout with a very cool rock bench in the meadow. the trail continues up through the woods and joins with the the Stowe pinnacle trail which is very steep with some scrambling. Our 2 yo active lab mix did great, better than his humans for sure! the way down was a little tricky, slippery/muddy rocks to navigate, we let him off leash at this point so the humans and pup were able pick our ways down the rocks without fear of someone getting pulled off balance with the leash.
he enjoyed meeting other people and pups along the way. view at the top is gorgeous, vast, breathtaking, etc. and humans and dog slept very well after!
