It’s Alright
Chief Vann House State Historic SiteThe trail isn’t shaded at all, as a heads up. There’s a few spots there that are shaded, and while dogs aren’t allowed in the building, the nice lady at the front desk let me stand at the door and pay for a water for my dog. 3/5 just because this would be better as a rest stop for your dog to walk a bit and go to the bathroom than an attraction. I’m sure it’s much more fun if it’s only humans.
Good location
Laurel Bark ParkI went at 2pm on a Saturday and there were a few dogs there, but they were all well behaved. My dog had a great time. The only thing I’d note (why I knocked off a point) I’d that if you have any mobility issues, this isn’t a good spot. The big dog side has a large dip in the middle with a fairly steep hill.
Very fun!
Don Carter State ParkWe hiked a little over two miles—there’s several places where your dog can access the water.
