Whiteside was on our way to our rental. The staff were extremely friendly! They have good food — but what surprised us the most was how quickly the food came out both times we visited! They have plenty of covered seating for people and pups.

Happs Place was less than 2 miles from our rental. We placed an online order when we noticed they had a patio with live music. At the pickup window, we asked if they were dog friendly. The GM said, “Absolutely! Bring him through the front and we’ll get you a table!”

We ended up eating some phenomenal pizza and had some front row seats to a great blues/rock/indie duo! They have a dinner menu, but we went back for pizza a second time because it’s that good! From the dough to the fresh toppings, we were really impressed! It’s a well-run establishment and we’re glad we stopped by!

The manager who checked us in was great! They had an issue with the blackout curtain, and comped our pet fee. (The blackout curtain wouldn’t go all the way down, maybe 1/10 of the window was uncovered. But, the window was not facing the bed so it wasn’t an issue.) They also gave us a dog bucket with a bag of treats, a dental chew, a stuffed bone toy, and a ball! They are next to Target and Walmart, which made picking up extra supplies super easy. Also, approx 20 mins from the beach. A very reasonable and surprising last minute vacation spot!
