Parking is terrible, but at the late hour we checked in we were able to park our Uhaul and trailer at the Cracker Barrel next door. The room was basic but met our needs for the night.

From the lobby the hotel looks really nice. Our room was very large, an option I paid for, but beyond that I regretted not getting an Airbnb. The cooling/heating element made the room smell terribly. It was raining during our visit and the window leaked. A good sized section of the wall/paint was coming off above the window. And the floors just felt dirty... carpet and tile But the location was convenient and driving in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, we took what we could get.

My Lily had never been to the ocean before so we drove down to the coast for the day. I don't know if it was because it was a Monday afternoon, the recent tropical storm, or Covid, but the beach was essentially deserted and very clean. The few other people and dogs that were there were friendly but mostly kept to themselves. We had a great day and look forward to going back
