Convenient Location
Hotel Mission de OroJust off I-5, convenient if you need a midway stop on the freeway. Really nice open areas to exercise your pooch. Restaurant has outdoor seating so you can go with your pet but when we visited it was cold and wet so we brought food to the room. Pet fee is perhaps a bit steep though.
Nice Thanksgiving Dinner
Kaiser GrilleDog friendly outdoor seating, dog friendly. Food was excellent but as some one mentioned fairly expensive. On the plus their house wines were excellent and very reasonable.
Overall Quite Good
Margaritaville Resort Palm SpringsNothing really set up for dogs except two designated dog relief areas with poop bags. Rooms are spacious and ours was on the ground floor with a small space outside with a couple of chairs. In keeping with the Jimmy Buffett theme there was a faint smell of pot in some areas! Had dinner outdoors and the food was really excellent. On the negative side, there is a hefty resort fee tacked on which gives you almost nothing as a dog owner since dogs are not permitted in any of the pool areas or outdoor bars at the pool.
Easy Access and Great Hikes
Whitewater PreserveOnly 20 mins from Palm Springs. Leashed dog friendly, easy hike follows the wash, as well as a more strenuous loop hike. Pleasant park area with ponds that your mutt will of course want to try and jump into! We went in November and temperature was in the high 60's in the morning. Great views up and down the valley with snow capped San Gorgonio in the distance.
