Hi! My rambunctious mixed-breed large pup and I are trotting your way đ

We were pleasantly surprised with this place that felt historic yet homey. We loved the grass wrapping around our building with plenty of wicker lawn chairs, cement tables, and poop bag dispensers. Our room felt HUGE compared to our usual places in Pismo; Cayucos wins the comfort award LOL. We liked that we could get a cross-breeze in our room, and learned you had to have the light switch by the door "on" before you could use the bedside lamps.
The location is amazing--go across the grass to the cement by the convenience market next door and straight across the crosswalk to a delicious restaurant (dogs allowed on their nice patio) and a park that takes you to beach access...if you dare. I do prefer the stairs a quarter-mile to the right to the direct slippery-sand and rippled-rock path, though my dog enjoyed both LOL. The front desk was helpful, and they had muffins, fruit, and more drinks in the lobby (room had coffeemaker). No free dog treats or list of restaurants like Pismo, but they allowed our dog in the lobby, and the grounds are immaculate. We will definitely be back!
The separate dog park next to the playground means kids and dogs can play separately and you can see both. You'll find a small area with fake grass, poop bags, and water bowl attached to a hose. Dogs are great, but they need a double gate to not let dogs out. The gate latches on the outside and not very well; it swings open sometimes. Fix it and you'll have a great area! (BTW, you can take your dog inside the building with you, too.)

My pup needed to stretch her legs on our road triñ so we took a detour and drove a ways to find El Chorro. Nice big space with lots of trees; wood chips and leaves mean no mud. Scattered benches mean dogs and people can can decide socialization level. There are 2 hose water areas for drinking, and kiddy pools can be put down in the summer. Big space to explore, a large gazebo area for a group, information board. You'll find plenty of poop bags and tennis balls here, and the locals are very welcoming. :)

The cinnamon rolls are fantastic. I travelled alone with 2 dogs, so they allowed us inside to walk through the (long) line. I ordered and waited with the dogs without incident. When I got my order I took them to one of the outdoor tables to eat. Friendly staff, but no food or water especially for dogs. Great for to-go orders or eating on the beach.

I stood half-inside the door to talk to the hostess, who told me to pick my table on the patio. The patio had lots of umbrellas for shade; I chose a picnic table with an umbrella and my dogs went right under it. The waitress offered them a cup of water right away, and when I ordered for myself she told me of the dog menu. I asked if she could take one portion of the beef-and-rice and split it in 2, and she said she could. The dogs enjoyed their dinner and I loved their clam chowder--so flavorful and creamy it beats Splash Cafe's. Oh, yes I did. :D Come bring your mutts and try for yourself.

I've stayed here a few times. Some of the rooms need bathroom upgrades (loose toilet, no water pressure in shower), and others are nice. I keep coming back for two main reasons:
1. Location. The hotel is at the top of stairs down to the beach. Upper floors have a fantastic view of the sunset. 2. Dog friendly. They have a little grassy area with poop bags at the end of the pool area. I can bring my dogs into the lobby to check in or grab breakfast. You get a welcome kit of a treat, poop bag, and a lost of dog-friendly restaurants. Your first pet is free; only $25 per additional pet. Bonus: Get to know the surfing goat that stays by the stairs and the surfer who owns him; they sell his book in the lobby.

Mo's BBQ has FANTASTIC food--fall-off-the-bone ribs with tasty sauce, seasoned baked beans, and homemade potato salad with good flavor, and skins. Their cornbread is fresh-baked and soft so you don't need honey butter (but it's still good). I went alone with 2 dogs; they allowed us to walk through the line and order. There are only 2 outdoor tables, but they brought my food outside, and when I went in to get to-go containers they told me to wait outside and they'll bring it all out. I brought my own dog water bowl, but you can ask for a to-go bowl. Great place; I will be back.

Lots of dogs come here to play fetch in the water and meet on the sand. My dogs love it and we stay for hours. They have restrooms at the top off the road, doggie and human fountains, and a poop bag dispenser at the bottom of the ramp; grab them upon arrival. It is a long beach, but it's hemmed in by rocks on both ends so dogs can't go astray.

The big dog park is long with lots of shade. There's lots of grass, and it's kept as nice as the park surrounding it. There's one mud puddle at the gate, but a rock is there to step on. The small dog park is square, but is sunnier. The park is nicely kept, but there's not much seating. I only saw one small water bowl, so bring your own.

I've eaten at Elbow room many times without my mutts, and I love the menu. This time I tried the patio; it's covered, enclosed, and has booths and tables, like like an indoor restaurant with big open windows. Bring your dog's collapsible water bowl and they'll refill it. Comfortable, and they space out the dogs well.

On the Edge has a spacious patio with lots of shade, a beautiful running fountain, and a blue water dish for dogs. You can quickly walk your dog through the shop or take the back way from the parking lot. Coffee is strong and they have an extensive human food menu, with sides of meat extra if you want to order for your mutt.

There is no direct entrance from the store to the patio, but it's down a side alley. This keeps your pets outside, but it also means going all the way around if you need to get something inside. The coffee is nice and strong, and they have donuts, breakfast pitas, T-shirts, and books for purchase inside. The patio has more than a dozen tables and plenty of seating. They have a few umbrellas and heaters interspersed throughout. You can ask for a cup of water for your dog, and thankfully the patio has a back way out.

Double-Play was one of my favorite places to bike to when I was a kid, but it went out with Covid. Sorry, no more Double-Play.

Good relaxing area with fenced patio. Bartenders will bring out water for your mutts and are knowledgeable about the beers. The food is good, too.

This really is a welcoming, laid-back, social place. The food is always changing because it's seasonal, but their burgers and sandwiches remain for years. Their outdoor seating area is good-sized and has been redone from basic parking lot to terraced and sectioned picnic/patio area. Dogs are welcomed with water bowls, and it's comfortable under the umbrellas and next to heaters.

This Western-themed area is great for dogs. From the lower end to the upper you have patio seating, restaurants, shopping, a playground, a dog park, and a bus drop-off. The dog park has fake grass, 2 big trees, some benches, a poop station, and a hose-filled fresh water bowl (the 2 balls are stranded over the fence). I was tired of driving and stayed a while, but lots of pets were in and out, and all well-behaved. I saw a mom stay in the dog park while her kid played on the playground

This place shows 4 movies each night
This dog park is HUGE, and is better since they added the single-occupant new dog area and the small dog park out front. My family and I have been coming here for years. Lots of dogs come, though at off-times it may be just you and one or two others. The same group of owners come and stay with numerous dogs weekday mornings, and you either love them or hate them. Weekends are much busier and tend to have more kids. Ever since they added these new park-and-pay thingies I've parked at Starbucks and walked the dogs across the street and up the hill

This restaurant is INCREDIBLY dog-friendly. If you are alone, you can walk your dogs up to the hostess stand to put your name in, and then wait outside the gate where they let you into the patio. Your dogs get complimentary water bowls when you're seated, and there is good spacing of tables and heaters. The dogs love the separate dog menu of chicken or burger with rice and veggies for $5. I've tried six or seven things on the human menu, and they're all good. The wings have a special tangy hot sauce that's delicious, the chicken pot pie has a flaky crust and big pieces of chicken, and their weekend brunch menu has lots of variety.

They have delicious, upper-crust (read: expensive but good) food. The crab cakes are meaty and the lobster mac-and-cheese is rich. The key lime cheesecake is the perfect balance or tart and rich. You leave your dogs by the door, go inside, and let them know you need a patio table. They'll seat you and your pet on yhe asphalt. It may not look like much, but they have nice heaters, umbrellas, and tarps. There are dog water bowls scattered around for your pet to use. I highly recommend this place as your splurge night out.

This place has a VERY busy patio that allows your dog under your table. They will bring you a water bowl with your order if you ask, plus you can purchase hot dogs, a meat patty, or chicken for your mutts. The clam chowder has good flavor, but isn't as creamy as Splash Cafe's, the fish tacos are crunchy and tangy, and the drinks are creative. You do need to leave your dogs while you order at the counter, though.
