Comfortable and Easy
Aloft TulsaDog-friendly employees, they make sure all the dogs are on the first floor by the side exit which is great. Poo bags and garbage available. Had an issue with the loud sound coming out of the heater but that’s specific to that room and not a reason to knock the hotel. Aloft continues to be my preferred stay for travel with my dogs.
Fine not great
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Albuquerque MidtownThey had us on the 2nd floor which meant an elevator ride and a long hallway walk. Outside area has poo bags but it’s gravel. Not an issue for my dogs but hard for some. Hot breakfast in the AM is nice (out at 6am which is even better). I could hear the loud footsteps of the person above me all night and morning so that really made it hard when I needed sleep for a long drive. The area around the hotel is a bit run-down but my luxury vehicle packed with possessions was left alone overnight. The hotel was fine, not my favorite.
Stay away
New Victorian Inn & Suites in Sioux City IAThe hotel’s interior is extremely outdated for the price; feels like a very old, very tired cheap motel. The pool is closed with paper over the windows. In our room, the bed pillows can only be described as perfectly square throw pillows for a couch. The bathroom felt very cheap and old; with only the toiletries provided for 1 person. Skipped the morning breakfast just to get out of there. It was fine for being on the road during a holiday weekend but it was not worth the price at all.
Zero Frills
Holiday Inn Express an IHG HotelThis hotel seemed like Holiday Inn Express acquired something existing; as it was old and dissimilar to other locations. My room had a flickering hall light like a haunted house and there were no actual curtains, merely sheets that did not block out the light from the 24 hour Taco Bell directly outside. Hot breakfast in the morning was good before getting on the road. It’s fine for a stopoff on a road trip if you go straight to bed and get up and leave.
