I’m Brittany, I’m 33 years old, And my best friends name is Kane 🐶! He’s 9 and his breed is razors edge pitbull, 67 pounds (all pure muscle of course, short and stocky), and he loves snuggles, socializing with everyone he sees, and he really wants kitty cat to play and snuggle with, but beware of the kitty plays too hard and smacks him… there will be feelings hurt and tons of pouting!!! I don’t know what I’d ever do without him, he’s the protector of my little girl his whole 9 years, I can’t even yell at her he steps inbetween us and puts a paw up at me!
We also just got a new rescue edition February of 2022, that would be Kane’s adopted brother, Aiden, he’s a lab /pit bull mix, 5 years old, and weighs is a whopping 98 pounds. My daughter volunteered at the local pound for school and she shared a special connection with this one dog, though my lease says 1 animal only, when she came with an esa from her therapist at school… how could I not at least ask my landlords to Bend the rules just a little? Her name is Abby and she’s now 14, she’s in 8th grade, and at age 9 she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, level 3. After Covid in 2021 she was also diagnosed with left ventricular dysfunction, due to so much fluid and prolonged high blood pressure. As soon as she was able to text negative she was immediately rushed to emergency surgery form the after effects of Covid, which consisted of putting in an at home dialysis catheter in her abdomen. And immediate dialysis at the highest setting for 12 hours to try and quickly get the fluid from around her heart and in her lungs to lower her blood pressure and stress on her heart. No time to heal like a typical surgery patient bc of thee situation, she had to learn to walk again from the severity of everything at once. With being so young and going through so much and kids being jerks to her bc of their ignorance, she became chronically depressed and no longer enjoyed life. I said no to this dog as soo as she started her sentence on the phone. Bc my lease says 1 animal. And no where else will rent to me with a pit bull. But she made me come see This dog, and I didn’t want to bc I’ll take home the whole pound I’m easily attracted! But when she showed him to me and said that’s the one! And I watched them interact. I had to do whatever I could to save this dog and keep that happiness that’s been gone from her since 2018 when she was diagnosed. I hadn’t seen her happy like that in so many years. And they were going to put him to sleep bc they were full and he had been there too long and kept getting brought back. I saved 2 lives that day when I brought him home. It’s been a learning experience for sure. He’s terrified of everything living, filled with anxiety, puppy energy for days, he’s definitely a bull in a China shop(so now that makes 2 in one house!) my landlord approved to have him! Mention the massive 98 pound anxiety ridden scared of even a bird or a squirrel out the window 🐿️ 🐦…. He absolutely HATES all men. He must have been abused or something traumatic had to have happened to cause this, he won’t come away from it at all. It’s like a completely different dog, and not does he have the deepest meanest sounds growl and bark! Over time and chicken nuggets and caging durning the training, he learned to love my fiancé though! It was a rough time, but now he will not leave him alone he cuddles him and follows him everywhere! It that’s the only male in the world! When I walk in the door Aiden cheeses so big. He legitimately smiles with all his teeth! Omg it’s the most adorable thing ever. I tell him say cheese and he does it too!! And my dog and him are the best of brothers! He hides behind Kane when he’s scare and he’s like 3 times his size it’s adorable! And if Kane thinks you’re getting to tough with his brother or anything he will jump in front of you and guard his (little, but big!) brubber!!! He’s been such a great addition I couldn’t imagine life without him now. He’s our family and has come so far. Him and Abby are so close and she’s been so sick in and out of the hospital lately and he can sense when she’s not here and something is wrong health wise with her from over 13 miles away. One night so I called her and asked if she was ok. And she was at my grandparents, she acted like I was crazy bc it was like 3 In the morning, and said yes… why.. and I told her and she went back to sleep. Not even a few hours later she was admitted Into the hospital bc her potassium levels were high enough she should have been in a cardiac arrest, she said after the phone call she woke up again and something wasn’t right. She was admitted for 2 weeks in Nashville Tennessees children’s hospital. I didn’t believe in the connection she had, just figured she just wanted a dog, after the passed year. I believe this was meant to happen them two finding each other and connecting. They saved each other. He’s the sweetest edition I could have ever made, saved 2 lives that day, February 11, 2022 🥰 that’s my story! Sorry it’s so long!
