We were in the area and found this place on BringFido. There were no BringFido reviews but we went to give it a shot. They were very accommodating for our dog. The server brought out a bowl filled with ice and water for her and it was clear to me that both servers were dog lovers based on their actions and comments. The location is right on the water and a very nice location and view. The food was good and the service was great. I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to go with or without your dog.

This was not like most Motel 6’s. The room was very clean and comfortable. The room also had a kitchenette which may be an added bonus for some travelers. There was plenty of green space around the hotel to walk the dog. The only reason I didn’t give it five bones is because of the customer service at the front desk. I stood and waited for some time when I arrived while the gentleman working behind the counter continued to answer the phone and talk on the phone while I waited. I was put on the third floor too which was not preferable when travelling with a dog. Great hotel and property. Not so great staff and customer service.

I stayed here twice while travelling through the area. Both times they seemed unaware I had a dog and tried to put me on the second and third floor respectively. I did end up with a main floor room once I reminded them that I was travelling with a pet. The room and grounds were basic. There were no garbage bins around the motel for doggie bags. There was a big dumpster on the far back corner of the property which was the only garbage other than in the room. There was only one bath towel in the room although two adults were booked and the room was suitable for four people. The towel, face cloth, and pillow cases in the room were not a crispy white like you usually find in a hotel. They may have been clean but were definitely dirt stained. Overall, it was an ok stop with the dog for a good price. Not a chance I’d stay here if travelling without the dog.

This was a nice spot to stay and stop. The trappers tents are basic with no bedding, no kitchen facilities and it’s a walk to the washroom. It’s a camping / glamping experience. There is a kerosene heater in the trappers tent if the nights get cool which they did during our stay. There is a store on site where you can purchase supplies or rent bedding and cooking supplies if needed. There is a fire pit by each trappers tent. We enjoyed having a fire with the mountains in the background! It was quiet here and if you’re awake during the night look up at the sky, the number of stars that you can see is amazing. It wasn’t the cheapest, especially for what you get, but it’s Kananaskis. I’m not sure anything is cheap. You pay for the beautiful surroundings.
