Recommended spot

This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here with our 2 dogs - 20 & 35 lbs. Clean room & comfortable bed. Not luxurious but you won’t expect that on this price range. Very friendly & helpful staff. We stayed Dec 2025 and they charge $25/pet. Excellent Indian restaurant Samosa King, in walking distance. Grassy area to walk your dogs - please pick up after them. Breakfast was typical. We’ll stay here again and recommend it.

Cross country trip

You get what you pay for. Hotel is old and worn out. Very old mattress -- springs caved in when you laid down. The chair in the room was equally worn out. It was basically clean but everything was worn out and probably should have been replaced years ago. The staff was efficient.

Favorite stop

A must stop on our cross country trips twice a year. Good size park to burn off some energy for our 2 dogs. Part of Veterans Memorial Park. Convenient to the Tesla chargers about 2 miles away and great BBQ at the Haze Restaurant in LaSalle.

Cape Cod family visit with our pups

The location is fantastic and so is the outside. They have a large piece of property that goes down to one of the inlets. There's a big grassy area on one side of the building to walk your dog. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a TV problem and I've never seen anyone more determined to fit a problem. Let me start by saying our room was clean but the motel itself is very old. The main building is 2 floors with the upper floor at parking level. These are the rooms with the Waterview. We were on the lower level which was very nice to walk the dogs and sit at an umbrella table right outside our door however you have to carry your bags, etc down to the room level. Don't use the stairs they're very steep. You either have to walk down or partially drive down the boat ramp and walk across the grass to the rooms. All the rooms in the main bldg face the pool and there's about 10' strip of grass between the building and the pool. We didn't use the pool but a lot of guests seem to be enjoying it. The room was small and dated. It barely fit the 2 queen size beds. The beds were ok comfortable but the pillows were lumpy(Bring your own) and the Bathroom door didn't close all the way. Having said all this if we go back to the Cape we'll probably stay here because it allowed our 2 small dogs and has a great location.

Good for 1 night stay

Old Hotel but the only hotel in Sidney that didn’t gouge you with per pet fees $15 per pet. Other hotels were charging $25+ per pet. Pros Staff is nice & Friendly. Room was clean. Location is is very Convenient to I-80 and our Favorite Mexican restaurant - Margaritas- excellent food! Cons: Old hotel that needs updating. Everything was clean but worn. Towels worn & dingy. Very small grass area to walk dogs - about 5 x 15 feet. Walked them by Walmart or We drove our dogs to the giant beautiful grassy area by Cabela. It’s just across the street maybe 1/4 mile.

Cross Country Trip

This is a beautiful old hotel - a Grande Dame! It is beautiful, very dog friendly and only minutes from the highway. I was going to give it 5 bones with a slight hesitation for 2 reasons. First, there really is nowhere to walk the dogs especially after dark. There are 2 medians between parking rows in the parking lots for them and a very small park across for the hotel. When I asked the front desk about taking a walk (after dark) they suggested we walk by the theater. Not much of a walk and just a city street. The second reason, is although they seem to have a nice restaurant and lounge they are adamant that if you leave your dog in your room alone there is no second chance, you'll be made to leave with no refund. My dogs are usually quiet in a room but that was too much of a threat. I would have preferred since we gave them a phone number and if we were still on property that they give at least one strike. Having said all this, I changed my review to 4 Bones.
