Only Beach in KW for Dogs
Key West Dog BeachThe seaweed was bad when we were there, but that’s a seasonal thing. It’s a small area and it isn’t fenced off either. Not a great beach, but still the only dog beach in Key West.
Get in out of the heat!
Key West AquariumGreat place to bring your pup! Very pet friendly and nice to get in out of the heat for awhile!
Not Worth the Walk
Clarence S. Higgs Memorial Beach Dog ParkWe walked well over 30 minutes to get here (not well signposted!) only to discover that a single paid dog-walker had just unleashed 10-15 dogs who were running all over the place. It didn't seem to bother the “local” dogs, but for my <20 lb. pup it seemed a bit too much. I wish they had separate runs based on dog weight (keep the smalls with the smalls)!
Less Than Thrilled
Truman Little White HouseThe description here is correct — pets aren’t allowed in the house; just on the grounds. There are plenty of places to walk dogs with grass rather than paying admission just to take my dog onto their grounds. Meh.
Great Photo Op
Southernmost PointIf you go early in the morning, there is usually no line. Passers-by are so friendly and happy to take your picture. In my case a guy driving by stopped to take a picture of me with my pup!
