Great food, great beer

Hudson Brewing Company

100% dog-friendly, even indoors. Every beer we tried was great- definitely get a flight! The real shocker here was the food. My partner ordered the caprese chicken sandwich and I had the soft pretzels and boneless chicken bites. We did not come for the food. We not expect anything from the food. We were blown away by the food. Even the dipping sauces were 10/10. Great experience all around. Cool space, plenty of room to keep dogs away from each other if yours is a scaredy cat like ours is. Also, you must walk through the antique warehouse next door, (also dog friendly). It is a trip.

Lovely!

Hudson Ferry Co.

The sunset cruise was beautiful and relaxing. Our dog had never been on a boat before, and the crew was super understanding and helpful. The first mate checked in often to make sure we were okay, and she knew exactly how to approach our dog in a way that kept her comfortable in this new setting. It isn't a very large boat, but there is plenty of space to move around (only issue was keeping our medium dog out of the way when kids were moving about, but she did ok!). Overall, great experience!

Very dog friendly!

The Wick Hudson a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

In dog friendliness, this place gets 5 bones. We brought our 35 lb mutt, Tango, to stay for two lovely nights. She was a little celebrity with the staff, who greeted her daily with love and treats. The room was huge (we booked a junior suite, which has two queen beds and a sofa). It was especially long, which was perfect for Tango to get some zoomies out before bed time.

We were on the first floor very close to the exit, which was super helpful for walks. At check-in, we had to wait for our room to be ready (we were early), but they let us hang out in the lobby restaurant. I was nervous Tango wouldn't be allowed in the restaurant area but they were fine with it and even brought her a water bowl. Cherry on top; I had ordered a cheese plate to snack on while we waited, and the extremely kind server made it complimentary as an apology for the wait (again, we were very early).

The hotel itself is well taken care of. The staff is professional and friendly. The room was spotless. The only reason I am knocking off a star (bone?) is the surroundings. While it is just a few blocks from the waterfront, train station, antique warehouse and brewery (both dog-friendly must-sees), it's about a 15/20 minute walk to all of the good stuff on Warren Street. There is a little shortcut up the hill via crumbling concrete staircase, so be careful.

The surrounding area around The Wick is mostly parking lot, seemingly abandoned buildings, and construction fencing blocking a lot of potential walk ways. There is a single bench in front of the hotel and no other outdoor seating. I wish there was some sort of courtyard on the property, especially for late night walks. There does seem to be some construction going on, so hopefully the area will be more pedestrian friendly when that is done. Overall an absolutely wonderful experience in a unique hotel!
