Great place
MotolodgeWalkable distance to downtown, clean, refreshed & inviting. A little sketchy activity (as in a lot of places these days) about, so to feel the most secure we picked an upstairs room. There's not a lot of dog walking space on the property, but you have all of downtown Pendleton for exploring.
Quaint stay
Little America HotelImpeccably clean, unbelievably quiet & shabby chic comfortable. Great areas to walk the dog, but rude people don’t pick up so you must watch your step. Bar comfortable with limited menu.
No
SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Grand IslandDated & tired. Small space for getting dog out, had to find a park several miles away because nobody cleans the small slice of grass area there is.
Thankful the dated room was clean & we missed a major storm that blew in overnight.
Good coffee, sad breakfast. Took some yogurt & a couple of bananas & hit the road.
Cool place
The Highlander HotelLots of spaces to relax in & plenty of places to walk the dog. Limited menu & bar was closed but we made do with few choices & skipped the drinks. The room was spacious & comfortable but the bathroom was odd. The toilet looked like it came from a vintage elementary school & the tub/shower from Home Depot.
All in all, a nice stop along the road.
Stayed twice on road trip
Aloft South BendThe only reason it doesn’t get a 5 is because there’s not a lot of dog walking areas. They should print a little map to include nearby parks. In a pinch there’s a bank lot in the back (that isn’t clean) & a very popular court house lawn across the street. We could hear the person next door going in & out all night, yelling a bit & slamming the door. (No doubt sport & alcohol related). All that said, the rooms are comfortable, the food & beverages good, and the staff excellent.
Decent stay
Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham ClarionIf you’re tired & need a break this place is clean, quiet & isolated. Even though the breakfast is mediocre the coffee is good. There’s also room to take your pet outside for stretch & relief. But if you want to be close to anything you don’t need to get back in the car & drive to, forget it.
Very disappointed
Radium ChaletAfter having to ask for bath towels, fix our own window shade, wash our dishes in the bathroom because the kitchen sink was stopped up & we were advised not to use it & breakfast was a disappointment too, we concluded it wasn’t a place we could recommend. The view from the end of the porch (not from our balcony) was nice & it was quiet. There was a nice place to walk our dog that also made for some good birdwatching.
Such a nice space
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Spokane DowntownExcellent room & staff. Only a couple of things to keep me from giving it a perfect score. When we turned on the local news there was an article about addressing the problems the city was having at the corner of 2nd & Division. That is the exact location of the hotel! Otherwise, the hotel felt secure, convenient & comfortable. However there wasn’t a dedicated dog relief space outside. I doubled & tripled up with other dog owners to go outside of the immediate perimeter which was occupied by sketchy individuals.
Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. The coffee, eggs, potatoes & toast were fresh & quite tasty & made for a great way to start the day. We’d certainly stay here again & am pleased the city is currently working on crime issues in the area.
