Nice Little Park

This is a nice little dog park that we visited twice this week on our way to and from Montana. Bigger section for large dogs has a few trees and some agility type items. Small dog side is really just an open area. Both have water fountains, some cover and a bunch for sitting.

Great Running Space

This is a nice big field to run your dog. Main field has one tunnel and bench. Small dog section has bench. Both have water. Some trees for shade in the summer or some sort of cover would be great additions.

No Longer 3-Dog Friendly

This has always been our go-to stop on the way from Seattle WA to Kalispell MT with out three dogs. We have stayed there the last three years so when booking our Memorial Day weekend trip we made a reservation here once again. Then, to our shock, the day of check-in the hotel called us at 4:08pm to say that they will no longer accommodate 3 dogs. Um, we are 30 minutes away. I made the reservation three weeks ago. Why did you not contact me before the afternoon of check in? Rude and inconsiderate. The way they handled our reservation leaves me to say that I can no longer recommend this hotel.

Nice Little Park

We visited this dog park inside PowderWorks Park which is right across the street from the Middle School/Jr. High. You will see soccer/baseball fields as you pull in. Park right by the playground/basketball hoops and the dog park is the fenced area right behind that. You can get to the OLDP area by taking the paved path to your left, or by waking around the playground via the paved path on your right.

Do area is a 4ft fence. There is a small dog field and a big dog field which is kind of “L” shaped. Each have their own entrance pen. There is a wooded corner in the large dog area with a dog trail along the fence line that most of the dogs I saw seemed to like to go on, probably to “pick up” from and “leave” messages for other dogs! The small dog area is just the field with no trees.

There are water poop stations with bags and cans in each section, just inside the entry gates and both sides have a large log to sit on. There is no water stations, although I did see bowls in each side, but bring your own water.

In reality, the off leash section isn’t much to write home about. Just two fenced in fields, one with some trees. However, the park does offer some substantial paved pathways through nice wooded/trees area. It is handicap accessible which I appreciate.

We let the boys chase the ball in the off leash section for 15-20 minutes and then we took them out and walked the paths for another half hour. I noticed multiple poop stations along the walking paths.

Overall a nice park with a field for off leash romping. We will definitely visit again.

Okay for a run

This OLDP is behind a Mexican restaurant and is part of an old dump. It it right off of I-5 and Marvin Rd. It has two sections. The one for small dogs has several picnic benches, and agility tunnel and several small trees. It is actually pretty good sized for the little dudes. The large dog section is good sized. It has a sandy area for digging and 2-3 water stations and 4-5 waste stations throughout. There is a single picnic table in the middle on top of the small hill and three park benches around the parameter. The area was pretty muddy today after yesterday’s rain with several large puddles. Sadly there was quite a bit of un-picked up poop, which adds to sanitary concerns expressed in other reviews. There is a paved walkway around the entirety of the outside to walk which is also wheelchair accessible, but don’t go into the community garden area - signs are posted. Large, free parking lot.

Hard to find - but worth the search

Okay, Google gives completely wrong directions to this place. So here’s the true scoop:

Exit # 299 (both directions)

If you are headed West in I-90 (towards Seattle) turn Right at the end of the off ramp, roll under the blinking yellow light & turn left just at the road curves to the right. You will see the fenced dog park in your left.

If you are headed East on I-90 (towards Coeur d’Alene), turn Left at the end of the off ramp, go over I-90, roll under the blinking yellow light and then turn left just as the main road starts to curve to the right. You will see the fenced area on your left and that’s the dog park..

The dog park itself is fully fenced with 6 foot chain-link. It has a big open area in the front with some agility equipment and there is a large wooded area which has a nice path around it easy to stroll on for people while the dogs go and inspect all the trees or chase a ball. There are a couple covered picnic tables as well and it appears that there is water on site during the summer months, but it has been turned off now for winter. all in all quite a lovely park especially for a summer stop with this nice shaded treat area.

Still the Best Park Ever!!!!

We LOVE this park & bring our three dogs with us from Seattle just so they can come here to play. The swimming pond is the best feature and our labra-hound runs straight for it and will swim for hours, even in the October cold. The running area includes this big hill with tunnels through it and the dogs love to run up, down, around and through. It’s like a dog version of hide-n-seek. The people of Whitefish are blessed to have such a nice park and should do a better job of picking up their poops - my only complaint is that poo pick-up isn’t really even encouraged. Back in Seattle you would be verbally shamed by multiple people if you just walked off and left a poop. Someone is more likely to say, “ hey your dog pooed, need a bag?” Maybe that sort of campaign would be beneficial here?

A year later and this park is still amazing! It has expanded include an additional section as well as a small dog only section & a dog washing area.

Good Road-Trip Pit-Stop

We stopped here on a recent road trip. Smaller park with two sesections. Fully fenced, water for dogs on each side. Nice community board. Each side is partially paved making it accessible to someone in a wheelchair which I really appreciate. Each section is part grass and part dirt/sand/gravel. There are several benches and a picnic table on each side as well as disposal bins and bags. Unfortunately there is zero shade which will make stopping on a hot day a no-go.

Big fenced rectangle

This park is just a big fenced rectangle behind some baseball/soccer fields.

There is a smaller section and a big section as well as a water fountain, but it has been turned off for winter.

Small but Fun

Visited in the evening of 10/22/23. This is inside McEuen Park. Small and divided into two sections, but my three still enjoyed running around and bounding through the elevated dog tunnel and weave poles.

Good Little Park

We visited this park today (10/23/2023) for a quick run before getting back on the road. This is fully fenced with some nice oak trees that provide good shade in the summer. It is kind of L-shaped with a long narrow entry - which is paved - then opens up into a larger field. Hours posted are 6am-10pm. We were there early at like 9-9:30 and only one other dog there. The poo is kinda bad in the corners where the grass is tall which makes it hard to pick up. I give it only 4 bones because if this.

Dog Friendly Good Food

Right across the street from McEuen Park Sweet Lous is very dog friendly and welcomed our three on the large covered patio. Brought out doggie bowls for each. Food was very good too as was beer and the service was great! A dog mom/dad must!
