Great Stay
Roadrunner LodgeThis place is a true gem and should be at the top of anyone's list who is traveling Route 66. Notwithstanding the 60's motif, there are lots of modern amenities. The rooms and facilities are truly spotless, and my Great Dane could not have been happier with the dog run where she met several new friends. Of all of the places I stayed when driving the country, this place was the best and I ended up staying three nights. Make sure you go to Del's (across the street) for dinner (dogs allowed on porch outside).
Good/Great Stay
Hampton Inn Albuquerque University MidtownClean, well-appointed chain hotel. The dog relief areas are at the back and north side of the hotel and are mainly crushed rock (typical of New Mexico). Dog waste bags and bins are provided. The big plus here is Green Jeans Food Hall immediately next door. The food is terrific and at least the ground floor is very dog friendly (didn't try to go to the brew pub upstairs but had excellent burritos and ice cream).
