Local shelter in Teton Valley Idaho
PAWS of Teton ValleyNow PAWS of Teton Valley located in Driggs, ID. Great organization with tons of community outreach. They are a huge asset for returning lost and found pets as well as adoption and fundraising events around the valley.
Rescue and adoption center
Animal Adoption CenterAAC is located in Jackson WY but services surrounding communities with education, spay and neuter programs and medical assistance. This is a great organization that truly embraces the rescue, adoption and care of shelter animals. We have adopted three of our dogs from ACC and highly recommend them.
Trail located on former railroad bed
The Ashton to Tetonia TrailThis is a great trail you can access year round. Leashed dogs are appreciated, as you will likely see bikes, horses, walkers and cross country skiers in the winter. There are several area to start but I like the Judkins trailhead for a quick 3 mile hike to the train trestle and back.
Some pet rooms available
Targhee Lodge By Grand Targhee ResortLimited number of pet friendly rooms available. Slope side accommodations in an older building. Thin walls can make it loud if your dog is a barker. Up to 2 dogs allowed with additional pet fee.
Big deck for dogs
The Royal WolfFood is decent, good spot for drinks on the deck in the summer with your dog. They usually have a water bowl set out. Local favorite spot.
Nice little fenced dog park
Victor Dog ParkSherman park in Victor,ID. Fenced area with some obstacles. Water is available along with poop bags. There’s a lot of dirt and bare spots, with some grass.
Nice dog wash in town
Ollie's Mountain Pet Supply & WashSelf service wash for now, but clean and easy to use. Grooming tools are also available. Lots of community outreach working with the shelter.
Easy access and convenient
Mountain Town Car Wash Dog WashLocated next to the car wash bays. Nice enclosed room to wash your dirty dog. Heated water with shampoo, dryer and vacuum.
Nice place to see the sunset
Watermen's Bar and GrillWe didn’t eat, just grabbed a couple of beers and sat out in the grass. There are tables, just no table service. We walked over from the rental house, there is a nice paved walkway that runs parallel to the road, and enjoyed watching the kiteboarding with our pups.
Great spot for lunch
Dajio RestaurantDogs allowed on the deck and patio. We stopped by for happy hour peel and eat shrimp and it was delicious and affordable.
Okay, not great
La Quinta by Wyndham Atlanta Perimeter MedicalWe booked here because the fee was $25 a night for up to 2 dogs. Most of the surrounding hotels charge a higher per dog/per night rate. However, the room was dirty and had non working amenities. The public areas were unkempt, with overflowing trash and piles of dirty towels in the lobby. The front desk was very nice, despite being short staffed. There were several places around the hotel to walk the dogs.
East trails in a beautiful setting
Big Trees Forest PreserveNicely maintained trails with dog stations at each end.
Dog park isn’t much
Overlook Dog ParkDog park itself leaves something to be desired, lots of construction in the area, but the Overlook park is leashed dog friendly and the 3/4 hiking trail offers beautiful views of the water.
Great stop off I-70
Endeavor Inn & Suites Trademark Collection by WyndhamI was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was clean and had a fridge, microwave, and a very comfortable bed. There were plenty of grassy areas for pet walks and I felt completely safe as a female traveling alone. The front desk and breakfast staff were awesome. Great amenities for the price.
Would not recommend
Super 8 by Wyndham Dunbar/Charleston AreaThe hotel is located in a pretty questionable area, no real grassy area for walks and a lot of random people hanging out around the parking lot. The room wasn’t very clean. I’m not picky but I wouldn’t stay here again.

It’s Okay
Super 8 by Wyndham Lexington VALocation was good, 1st room wasn’t clean, 2nd one was better but still not the cleanest. Friendly staff
Good Stay!
Motel 8 Rock Springs$10 pet fee . Nice find in a busy commercial area. Friendly staff and had a little fenced off pet area. There was a lot of early noise as people were heading out but overall a good stay for a great price
Nice Room
Super 8 by Wyndham Mt Vernon IL$10 pet fee but great deal on a 2 queen bed room with fridge and microwave, plus free breakfast made this a better deal than the no pet fee Motel 6 next door.
