My hubby and I are empty nesters with two dogs. Lakin-10 yr old pure bred Aussie, and Crosby-9 yr old Aussie/English Setter mix, rescue dog.

Really nice king room with a sofa, clean, comfy bed. Special request for ground floor room was honored. Friendly staff. Plenty of grass for pets. Nice restaurants nearby, one that shares the same parking lot. The breakfast was tasty and included in the very reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Lots of grassy areas for dogs, clean hotel, comfy beds, decent breakfast, special request for ground floor was honored. Right next to the exit door. Quiet hotel. Great price.

We were headed to a different place but saw Tribute the patio seating was expansive and raised above street level overlooking a really nice (and newly developed) town center. The food was excellent, cocktails were creative, and dog water was offered before we could ask. Such friendly staff! We really enjoyed our meal here. We got there for cocktail hour so that was a plus too

Clean and roomy. Outdoor spaces for the pups was right outside our door. Well lit parking lots. Not much to do in this town as it’s more of a rest stop and not a destination. Staff was friendly. We did have an authentic Mexican meal just down the street. Complimentary breakfast was great to start our day.

Awesome place to hang out with Fido. Fully open tables or tables under a huge structure with many heaters (which we didn’t need). Many food truck choices to choose from. Our dogs were very content there under our table catching scraps. Some dogs bowl and self serve water are available, but bring a bowl just in case they are all being used.

Great food and friendly staff. Very welcoming to pups to sit on both outdoor patios. One just outside the entrance with a roof, and another that is in a fenced off area, open with umbrellas. Great music and very festive. Our pups were treated very well.

Don’t waste your time looking for a better beach for you and your well behaved dog. This is it! Lots of friendly locals with their dogs, off leash and on. Super fun and beautiful. People seem to be very mindful of picking up after their dogs. Our dogs were in heaven there. We stayed in Newport Beach and Culver City but still drove here several times and it was worth the drive! We will just stay in the Huntington Beach area the next time we visit with the dogs. It’s the perfect doggie and pet owner beach around. That said, if your dog is timid and is only a leashed dog, this will be a scary place for them. Better to keep them on the walking path, as dogs will run up to them to say hi while on the beach.
The only word of caution is there are lots and lots of squirrels along the walking path and parking areas, so hold tight if you have a chaser.
Go to Huntington dog Beach instead! Off leash fun for Fido.
Newport Beach is not a great beach for dogs. They were allowed on leash on the strand, but that got very busy as the day went on. Dogs are allowed on the beach on a leash until 10:00 and then again after 4:30. Dogs are not allowed on the Pier at all. Parking is a nightmare in this whole town. We paid for an expensive beach rental one house away from a beach we couldn’t really use. So disappointing. Stay in the Huntington Beach area if looking for beach fun in the sun with Fido. The people there are super nice too. Met lots of awesome locals!
Lots of squirrels along the parking lots and walking paths so keep a good grip on the lease for dogs who love to chase.

What a sweet little spot. The courtyard has a fire pit in the middle, plus outdoor heaters. Food was awesome and pups got ice water. Breakfast and lunch only. Recommend!

Very friendly staff, from front desk to kitchen staff. Very clean rooms and well appointed with plenty of towels. Applebees in the same parking lot was convenient too. Plenty of grassy areas and extremely well lit at night. We know from experience. There seems to be a resident cat hanging around outside so hang onto the leash if your Fido is inclined to chase. Haha. Breakfast was great, coffee could have been better but my hubby says I’m a coffee snob. I would recommend to anyone stopping in with pets. Our two dogs seemed very comfortable, but were terrified of the elevator. Our room was on the 3rd floor, but they needed the exercise so we didn’t mind the stairs.

Friendly front desk staff. Beautiful lobby and dining area. Good breakfast and coffee. Comfy beds and pillows. Clean and nicely decorated. Very close to a variety of eateries, nice sidewalks along the road that isn’t terribly busy. The Florence Rail Trail is only a 6 min drive away. Paved walk. Parking is a little hard to find. Right off a really sharp corner. We also took our boys to the middle school off Ebenezer Ave, State Highway for a good off leash run. Recommend for weekends only. No one was around at all.
Only reason I didn’t give 5 bones is because the grassy area is between the hotel and the road and it’s hilly. The other reason is the back door that is convenient for dog people was busy all night and only leads out to a dirt drive and a couple of shrubs. We bring a white noise machine with us for the room that is a must when traveling with dogs.
We highly recommend the 1720 Burger Bar for dinner. Best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had and awesome fries. Brandy was a great server. We even got free doughnut samples at the place right next door. We got vanilla ice cream for the pups there too. Super friendly girls who are eager to serve you.

Easy on and off the freeway, but feels more remote. Not noisy. Friendly and helpful staff. Welcome gifts for pets, a nice dog bowl and treats. Beautiful and quiet lobby, plenty of grassy areas and sidewalks for pups. Safe location. Our room was nicely decorated, spacious and very clean, comfy bed and pillows, shower water was hot. They put us on the ground floor right next to an exit so we could bring our pups out easily. Lobby had hot coffee ready at 5am when we checked on it during our morning dog potty break. Poop bags and receptacles on site. Our room was away from others and pretty quiet for the most part. Unfortunately, someone kept using the stairs that were right next to our room until about 10:30pm. So our dogs barked. This is no fault of the hotels, so it is not reflected in my final review. Free hot breakfast by the fireplace was really nice. I can’t say enough good about this place and will definitely stay again.
