We had an extended stay at the Coyote and it’s not likely we will be staying there again. Upon arrival, the room smelled incredibly musty and the carpet wasn’t very clean, the bed sheets had stains on them and my kid immediately stepped on a sharp burr that had been left in the room. The first night, my husband was approached by a homeless man trying to get into the building at the back entrance. People were smoking under the “no smoking” sign.

There are no tables in the room in case you wanted to eat something, no microwave either. The “shuttle” service is actually an uber that they call and pay for. The sink in the bathroom flooded twice because the stopper was broken, and the toilet flooded twice without much in it at all. We actually went out and bought a plunger at Walmart nearby. On top of all of that, my dogs got fleas there. There were fleas on the beds and in the carpet. Friday night cost almost $250. Wish I had just stayed at my last hotel a little longer instead of a week at the Coyote.

If you didn’t leave the musty AC on, the room got incredibly hot. The window that opened had a big gap in the screen. The free breakfast burritos were incredibly bland and a very strange texture. The front desk people were very nice, minus the first woman who sounded like she was on the phone with a friend when I walked up for help with the toilet— she looked at me like I was bothering her when I asked for help. Glad I did not have to deal with her again. When we asked for an extended checkout, they did not update the keys, which made packing up the car very difficult. We had to ask to be let back into the building/our room.

Big, comfortable rooms. Everything was really clean.

Visible mold on the ac unit, bathroom ceiling and all along the mini fridge. Mini fridge was leaking too. Whole property smelled like cigarettes and weed. We were left three towels for four people and one roll of toilet paper.

Room was clean but burner in the kitchenette didn’t work and the elevators were not running. The room smelled heavily of chemical cleaners (very difficult to bare if you have asthma), and there was no place to get quarters for the coin operated guest laundry. There were people smoking weed in the parking lot and a homeless man yelling at birds. They should really bring down the price or give a heads up if so many things are not working.

Nothing stood out as good or bad. I appreciated the lack of carpet, but they only gave us two towels for four people.

This was such a fun place to stay with great food next door at the Steak Ranch and really nice people working at both places, but the bathroom in the room was a huge problem. There was a lot of black mold and clear signs of water damage to the ceiling. My kids and I have autoimmune issues and were immediately triggered by the room. We were only there for two nights, so we just avoided using the bathroom as much as possible, but that kind of exposure is bad. There was a big crack in the bottom of the tub that you could see into, and my food got pinched by it while I was in there. I tried texting the main office about the issue and no one responded. The building needs some love before I would return to stay another night, or suggest anyone else stay there. 10/10 for the Steak Ranch and ambiance though.

Flickering lightbulb in the parking lot, people smoking blunts and cigs in front of their rooms, eyeballing everyone who walks by. The room was so musty, it immediately sent my kids and I into coughing fits. The vibe is stay here if you want to meet Norman Bates.
