Dog friendly deck

Stopped in for a beer while waiting for our sightseeing cruise. Beautiful large dog friendly deck with lots of umbrellas. Our waitress immediately brought our dog a fresh bowl of water.

Small dogs welcome

We took our small dog along with us. They accept small dogs that can sit on your lap. We went in June before the busy season so our dog was able to sit on the bench beside us.

Dogs welcome on lower patio

We had just arrived in Halifax & stopped in
We were seated on the lower patio ( picnic tables) and our dog was brought out a bowl of ice water. Enjoyed our lunch, the crab dip was delicious.

Great for dogs

You have two doors -- one enters into the inner hallway like a traditional hotel room, and the other is your outside door which leads to your own deck with Adirondack chair. Beyond this is a fairly large grassy area with picnic tables. So convenient to take the dog outside. We met several dogs outside having a game of fetch & blow off some energy from travelling. Dog rooms are not carpeted and on the ground floor. Nice buffet breakfast and coffee, tea, juice available all day. Our room had a new tub surround and was quite clean. If you're traveling with dogs this one is highly recommended.

Incredible views

Went on a midweek morning & it was practically empty. We took our dog and he enjoyed the 10min walk to the stairs. Nice clean trail with garbage cans and washrooms along the way. Our dog had no problem going down the stairs but he was hesitant on the last 5 or so that are grate style for drainage. The tide was out but it was very muddy in the morning and he loved it. Met another dog and they exchanged mud playing. Back at the top we were pleased to see a dog washing station and water bowl for drinks. You have to coax them onto the grated area to spray with the several hoses. Keep a towel in the car to dry off.

Dogs welcome on patio

We arrived at noon for lunch. We were seated on the patio overlooking the docks. We enjoyed the view of the boats at low tide & the hummingbirds using the feeder. Lunch was delicious, Lobster roll for him, salmon cakes for me. Could only eat one as they were large. Our dog was offered a bowl of water as well.

Dogs are free

It's a really quick 4 minute ride up or down. $5 per person one way. You must pay both times up & down. Dogs are free. Something to do but kinda expensive for the quick ride.

Cottage style

Each cottage has a front lawn and there's plenty of lawn/park-like green space on the property. Lots of space to walk the dog. There's trails within a 5-10 min walk as well. Room was simple but clean with a brand new renovated bathroom. Simple buffet breakfast in the main building. Pool was under renovation. It's a very cute place, nothing fancy but quite affordable and our dog was welcome. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location

Stayed 2 nights with our dog. There's a beautiful park directly in front of the hotel so extremely convenient for dogs. We were given a room just off the lobby which was great for having the dog but bad for being woken up at 5am because the coffee/juice dispenser is directly outside the door. Our dog was welcome, & they had no problems with us going out to dinner while leaving our dog in the room. There were no issues. Valet parking blocks your car in but everything is within walking distance so we didn't need the car. Nice breakfast buffet & coffee/tea available 24/7 (again right outside our room). Had a wonderful jet tub, plenty of towels and thick hooded robes. There's a steep height of maybe 8 steps to enter the lobby so dogs with mobility issues may struggle.
