Great location for kids and pup!

We were welcomed with warmth and even received a free room upgrade with waterfront views. This is a lovely hotel (with a rooftop pool!) in a really fun area and so many restaurants that cater to all sizes of groups. We stayed on a summer Friday night and it was definitely bustling. There is a large grassy on the street level (the hotel reception is on the 2nd floor) for your pup and plenty of green spaces all around. There’s even a large fire pit about a 5 minute walk north of Hyatt House where you can roast your own s’mores!

Note that parking is awful and expensive in this area so expect to pay around $65 for overnight parking. We had a full-sized SUV with a Thule roofbox and they were able to fit it in the garage, although the spaces were tight. Your total vehicle height has to be less than 8 feet, otherwise you’ll have to drive farther or cross your fingers that street parking opens up. Nevertheless, we loved our stay and would definitely come back to Hyatt House.

Short & sweet stay

Our family enjoyed a quiet stay here for a couple of nights while my partner worked at the University. Plenty of wide, open green space in front of the hotel for your pup to walk around. The majority of the area is fenced but the driveways are not. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the walk to their main business/restaurant area is less than 10 minutes. The rooms were recently upgraded and were modest but pretty clean.

Wonderful stay at a historic hotel!

We were welcomed so warmly and found our room already prepared with a very large memory foam dog bed and water/food bowls. Keith at the front desk surprised us with a room upgrade at no extra charge (I booked a normal Fairmont room but we opened the door to a larger accessible room with a small salon & sofabed). This is a beautifully appointed hotel and the staff are so caring and attentive. The warm pool & hot tub on the 6th FL was a hit with the kids! While the restaurants do not allow non-service pets, you may leave your dogs in the hotel room IF they are ok being alone while you’re downstairs to dine. We left Riley for a little over an hour to have dinner at Bistro Le SAM, which was fantastic! Excellent experience all around.

Riley rates 5 bones!

Excellent stay for our dog, and her humans. Beds were clean and comfy. Riley got her own dog bed, water/food bowls and extra treats. Hotel concierge, cleaning, and restaurant staff were very accommodating. We were able to eat inside the Strand Cafe with Riley, although farthest from the center where most diners were situated. The restaurant food was good but the service can be a bit slow. We have stayed twice and won’t hesitate to stay again if our travels take us back to Ithaca.

Tail-wagging burgers & shakes!

Riley enjoyed her Frankie all-beef patty, and her humans LOVED their burgers, hot dogs & shakes, too. There are about 4-5 outdoor tables that can easily accommodate a family of 5. However there are currently no patio umbrellas to shield from the sun, so wear your sunhats/sunscreen if you go during the day. So happy to have this pup-friendly burger joint in town!

Great, super dog-friendly restaurant!

Had dinner here on a random, rainy Tuesday night. We were warmly welcomed with our pup and promptly seated in their outdoor, covered dining area. We all enjoyed our meal and were happily surprised to find a dog menu! Our furbaby happily enjoyed her unseasoned grilled chicken cubes with potato bits and rice.
