This “dog friendly” hotel didn’t have any green space for dogs. I found out the hard way that the weedy areas that I took our 1 yr old mini schnauzer to potty were full of goatheads (something I was unfamiliar with as we were traveling from MI). Our poor baby wouldn’t go, dragged me to the hotel door & when I picked her up, I found she had burs in her fur and painful spines lodged between the pads of her paws that we had to tweeze out. I talked to the manager and he suggested we take her to the rocks or the roadway (she won’t go potty at either place). I had so many burs in the bottom of my sandals that I threw them out rather than taking the chance of bringing them into the room or car. The room was clean, the staff was nice, and the breakfast was the usual hotel continental.
