Extremely dog friendly. Our puppy was welcome everywhere.
Extremely relaxing. Everything about this establishment is well thought out and done to perfection.
There are trail heads, an observation deck to view Mt Rushmore, excellent food.
The tents were very comfortable. Even in the warm part of the day, there are cooling stations and fans. Plenty of blankets for cool nights. We splurged for a tent in the room which was very well done, but the communal bathrooms were very clean and well maintained.
There are activities for the kids - and nightly smores. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the other guests as well.

The Deadwood Lodge was very well maintained, clean, and comfortable.
For the pups there is a lovely area out back for them to do their business, complete with bags and trash receptacles. Most of the first floor rooms had doors leading directly outside. There was a nice patio area to hang out with your dog.
The restaurant was great and my 8year old loved the mini water park/pool.

We stopped with our puppy on a road trip to Keystone. We ate in the bar, the staff was very accommodating and friendly.
The food was on the upscale side of bar food! I highly recommend the lobster/ shrimp po boy!

The host had to check to see if they would let us have breakfast there with our dog. It was very awkward. He said they were pet friendly but the dept of health frowned on dogs - even on the patio.
On the patio we were served with paper plates and coffee in styrofoam cops. The food was good. The service was ok too. There are definitely better places.

Perfect for a quick breakfast. The coffee was excellent and their patio was very comfortable. The menu wasn’t super extensive- but everyone found something they loved. Great ambiance!

The service at Jacob’s was the best we have encountered. The staff was so attentive to our family (and especially our puppy). They went above and beyond to accommodate- 3 days later and we are still talking about it!!
The food and cocktails were excellent - we enjoyed spoiling our puppy with their pup menu.
It was also very reasonably priced for the quality of the menu!

Our Lab/Weim puppy loved running through the woods. She didn’t know what to think of the swim at the end. The water was very cold!
This is definitely a moderate hike. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes or sandals (keens/Tevas) you’ll be crossing the creek bed several times across rocks etc.

We stopped with our puppy on a road trip and hung out on their gorgeous patio. The staff was very accommodating, as others have mentioned- promptly brought water for our pup.
The food was excellent. I had a smoked salmon salad that was nothing short of perfect. There was also a good children’s menu if you are traveling with kids.
Our pup had plenty of space to walk around after and promptly sat down down and did not want to leave!
