The Starling is definitely dog-friendly, and overall I appreciated being able to stay here comfortably with my dog. At check-in, I received a dog handkerchief, collapsible dog bowl, and poop bags, which was a nice touch.

That said, a few of the dog amenities listed online didn’t match my experience. There was no dog bed provided, and although dog treats are mentioned and I was told there were treats available, I didn’t see or receive any. I also did not see the grassy pet relief area that is listed as being on site.

One important thing to note: the listing says well-behaved dogs may be left unattended in the room, but the pet policy you sign at check-in states that dogs cannot be left unattended. That’s worth knowing ahead of time if you’re planning activities where your dog can’t come along.

Overall, it is a dog-friendly hotel and I appreciated the welcome items. I’d just recommend confirming the current pet amenities and policies directly with the hotel, as some of the information listed online may not be up to date.
