There are lots of things to choose from at Hopkinton State Park. During the off season, they close one of the main roads, so people (and their on-leash dogs) can walk, run, bike, etc. on the paved road for a few miles without having to worry about cars. There are lots of unpaved trails going through the forest as well. The main beach (when you drive in, take a right at the fork) where dogs are allowed directly on the beach during the off season (September-May) is nice to walk along. It’s a mix of sand and small pebbles and tiny shells. My dog loves to dig here. There’s a dam you can walk across as well. Picnic tables are throughout the park. They even have grills - I’m not sure when those are allowed to be used. They do not have overnight camping. The park is open from sunrise to sunset. My dog and I come here a couple of times a week and vary what we do. It’s one of our favorites!
