Always welcoming

Perfect spot to hangout on a nice evening. Outdoor seating is great but limited. Always welcoming of dogs here.

Great for long walks, but muddy

The trail is not consistently paved, fyi. But it’s a great, mostly flat, pathway throughout the entire national park and surrounding cities. Plenty of drop in points from trail heads, parks, and cities. You could literally walk for days on this path. Since it is a crushed limestone type path in most of the area, it does get muddy and have puddles across the path. Very dog friendly- stay on leash, of course (if not to control your dog around others, then at least to keep the dog safe near the rushing river).

Excellent hiking for ppl and dogs

The whole park is available for hiking with leashed dogs and we have had a full long weekend of good experiences with our dog and others along various trails here. The buildings only welcome service dogs, but the rangers have all been very much dog people. Definitely a good spot for outdoors with the pups.

Great for hiking with dogs

Tons of beautiful trails, a bit tough in some areas and there are cliff areas. Dogs almost everywhere and the owners were all doing a great job of keeping the dogs in line while we were there.

It can get crowded and hard to navigate with a dog during peak times, but we managed to find some lesser known trail areas to explore with our dog and do some photography. Highly recommend.

Trail closed

I'm not sure how long or why, but the trail has signage showing that it’s closed deep into the trail. There doesn’t seem to be any issues however and people are still using the trail. I found that despite the requirement that dogs be leashed every dog I saw was running loose - one dog was so far out of sight of his owner that I thought the guy was looking for his dog since he was carrying a leash and the dog was obviously running around deep into the wood line. The guy was unbothered and was not even paying attention to his dog. Other dogs were running loose along the creek. So if you have a reactive dog - this is likely not a safe place to bring them since no one is controlling their dogs here. Trail was lovely and very easy tho. I just wouldn’t bring a dog that has issues here at all.

Very friendly

The staff were stoked to have us in with our puppy while we worked her leash manners and greeting strangers. The customers were all kind and friendly. No issues.

Easy trails

Lovely spot to take the pets out into the woods. Most trails on property are single track dirt and roots and typical of the woods. One trail is a fairly flat paved path loop.
