The Dog-Friendliest
Southern Oaks InnWe have stayed at Southern Oaks 4 times now with our two large dogs. This hotel doesn’t just “allow” pets, they truly cater to them. They have a really nice fenced in dog park, plus a nice large shaded, grassy area for leash walking. Our room had a giant doggie bed and complementary collapsing water bowls waiting for us when we arrived. Other perks include a pretty decent free breakfast (for the human guests only, of course.) The pool is nice, with a partial shade covering, and the hotel itself is conveniently located to both the historic district and the beaches. The only negative thing I would say about the hotel is that the standard rooms are VERY small, to the point it’s difficult to freely move around in them, especially if you’re traveling with a large dog(s.) There really isn’t any room to set up a crate, it’s that cramped. But, if you don’t mind the close quarters and plan to do little more than sleep in your room, Southern Oaks is about as pet friendly as they get at a pretty good bargain, too.
